NBA Rosters Feature Record-Tying 125 International Players

The NBA announced today that opening-night rosters for the 2024-25 season feature 125 international players from a record-setting 43 countries across six continents. This includes a record number of players from Australia (13), Germany (8), and Cameroon (5), as well as a record-tying 14 players from France and 17 from Africa. For the fourth consecutive season, the NBA has at least 120 international players, with 100 or more for the 11th straight season. Every NBA team now includes at least one international player.

The TRUSSTIC™ support system is still there to give you great stability, and ASICS‘ signature GEL™ technology in the midsole ensures you get top-notch shock absorption and all-day comfort.

WNBL Season 2024-25 Launches at the New FOOT LOCKER in Melbourne Central

We had the exciting opportunity to attend the launch of Cygnett’s Women’s National Basketball 2024-2025 season today! The event took place at the newly reimagined Foot Locker Store in Melbourne Central, the first of its kind in Australia and only the fourth worldwide.

The store’s design is sleek, perfectly catering to both hardcore and casual sneaker fans. Top brands like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, and Puma line the shelves. On the left, you’ll find the Men’s section, while the right is dedicated to Women’s and children’s collections.

At the heart of the store lies the standout feature—a circular gazebo-like area adorned with sneaker displays and memorabilia. Benches invite customers from both sides of the store to relax, chat, and try on their sneakers in style.

Of course, the highlight of the day was the introduction of several top WNBL stars. Fans of all ages, along with the media, enjoyed an engaging meet and greet, making it a memorable experience for everyone.

This signature model, released in 1982, features the initials of Guillermo Vilas, an Argentine tennis icon who made a name for himself by winning both the US Open and French Open in 1977, totalling four Grand Slam titles over his career. Quite an impressive legacy!

What sets this sneaker apart in PUMA’s tennis line-up is its blend of comfort and performance. Saucony Progrid OMNI 9 x Jae Tips ‘To-Do-List’ Pink

Saucony and rapper slash artist Jae Tips have dropped their third successful collab, featuring the Saucony Pro Grid 9 in a “To-Do-List” two-pack. This version comes in a Pink and Purple colorway, highlighting Jae Tips’ signature color blocking style.

The upper is made of fused TPU strips and synthetics, giving the Y2K-inspired silhouette a lightweight, durable build. A standout feature is the breathable red honeycomb mesh covering the shoe. It also has a unique Purple TPU cage, absent on the Tan pair. Signature Jae Tips elements—his Savior font, flower, and globe logo—appear on the heel.

Cushioning comes from the Pro Grid 9 setup with SRC crash pads for added comfort. A futuristic TPU shank provides stability, while hard rubber pod outsoles handle traction.

Foot Locker Partners with the WNBL For Season 2024-25

Foot Locker is partnering with the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) for the 2024-25 season. This will strengthen the support for women’s sports and basketball’s growth in Australia. This partnership reflects Foot Locker’s commitment to empowering female athletes and promoting basketball.

ASICS announces a new collaboration with Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand, PLEASURES. This project combines ASICS’ classic style with PLEASURES’ bold designs, featuring the GEL-NYC™ shoe, launching Friday, October 11, 2024, on pleasuresnow.com.

ASICS and PLEASURES aimed to create a dynamic sensory experience inspired by natural wonders and textures. PLEASURES worked with longtime partner Shelby Kay Reed to lead the project.

The campaign builds on the theme of “nature,” with visual artists creating environments that showcase the GEL-NYC™ shoe. Custom sets mimic flowing tidepools, mosslike fields, and bubbling mud pots, enhancing the shoe’s connection to nature.
