Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads across Australia! A big shoutout to my friends at ASICS Sports Style Australia for sending over this season’s must-have dad sneaker—the ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 16 Cream/Ivory.
Let’s break it down. This pair is the perfect spring-ready sneaker. The wide-pored mesh upper keeps your feet cool and fresh, while pink TPU strips on the toe box provide excellent lockdown. Fresh green TPU overlays on the sides add stability, and the iconic ASICS Tiger Stripe logo pops in white and green for a clean, timeless finish.
Subtle details like the green embossed branding on the tongue and the GEL-CUMULUS 16 logo on the lateral heel complete the upper’s design.
Underfoot, comfort takes center stage. The sneaker brings back its dual transparent pink GEL™ cushioning, paired with FLUIDRIDE™ technology for smooth transitions and FLYTEFOAM™ midsoles for lightweight, all-day wear. The rounded toe box caters to wide-footed sneaker fans, while the true-to-size fit ensures step-in comfort straight out of the box.
Retailing at $220 AUD, the ASICS GEL-CUMULUS 16 Cream/Ivory is now available at ASICS.com.
First conceptualised in 1999 by adidas designer Shane Ward, the Intimidation was born from the pioneering Feet You Wear series — a line engineered to mimic the foot’s natural form. Its bulbous, sculpted design and ergonomic sole gave athletes a low-to-the-ground feel and a more instinctive response. Over the years, this silhouette became a blueprint for future adidas innovations and a foundation for several of the brand’s most iconic sneakers.
Now, more than 25 years later, the Intimidation Low makes its return — this time reimagined by HSDT design director John Bouquet. The revival stays true to its DNA while pushing into new territory, drawing on the design philosophy of biomorphism — shaping functional objects based on forms found in nature.
Expect fluid lines, anatomical precision, and the same unmistakable low-slung stance. The updated build introduces a one-piece translucent RPU moulded cage — a seamless organic exoskeleton inspired by river systems, skeletal anatomy, and amphibian textures.
Other key details include:
Lightweight mesh uppers
Carbon-fibre heel counter
Ripstop overlays
Reflective accents for a futuristic edge
The drop comes in two elemental colourways:
Meteorite – Textured black uppers, reflective trims, and a gum rubber sole. Dark, dense, molten energy.
Dolomite – Off-white seamless upper, contrast black ripstop, and red tab accents. Clean, mineral, refined.
Captured by Kev Bouquet, the campaign was shot at the foot of an active Indonesian volcano — placing the Intimidation Low in its natural element, surrounded by fractured rock and flowing lava fields.
The HSDT x adidas ‘Intimidation’ Low limited-edition release are now available exclusively at hsdt.net.

The Gold Coast once again proved why It’s More Than Just Sneakers is more than just an event—it’s a movement. The latest stop, held on 2nd August at PCYC Nerang, was packed with energy, culture, and a whole lot of love from the community that makes it all possible.
From the moment doors opened, the vibe was electric. Sneakerheads were swapping pairs, collectors were showing off grails, and vendors weren’t just there to sell—they were donating prizes just to give back to the people who support them year after year. That kind of generosity is what sets this community apart.
Monster Energy kept things lit with their all-day racing challenge, handing out prizes to the fastest laps and sparking friendly competition that had people jumping in the driver’s seat nonstop. At the same time, the main floor buzzed with trades, raffles, and the kind of conversations you only get when passion brings people together.
This stop also made history for Queensland—a live podcast took the stage for the first time, adding a whole new dimension to the event. It wasn’t just about sneakers; it was about stories, perspectives, and culture being shared in real time, creating moments people will remember long after the kicks are put back in the box.
Of course, the raffles had everyone hyped, and while a few repeat winners walked away with the goods (thanks to investing in stacks of tickets), the excitement never dipped. It was all smiles, all day. And it wasn’t just locals filling the room either—supporters travelled interstate to show love and be part of the Gold Coast experience.
A huge thank you to our sponsors for their support. None of this would be possible without them, and we’re beyond grateful.
But beneath all the fun was a little bittersweet news—the Queensland event will be taking a break next year. You could feel the sadness from the community, a testament to just how much this gathering means to everyone who pulls up. Still, the Gold Coast stop reminded us that It’s More Than Just Sneakers is about people, culture, and connection—and that energy will carry on until we’re back.
At the end of the day, sneakers brought us into the same room, but it was the laughter, the trades, the generosity, and the shared passion that made the Gold Coast stop unforgettable. Everyone left happy, already looking forward to what’s next.
Next stop: Sydney! We’re bringing It’s More Than Just Sneakers to our home city on 20th September at PCYC Auburn. Don’t miss it—this one’s going to be special.

ASICS SportStyle is stepping into the local scene this August with its first-ever Australian pop-ups in Sydney and Melbourne – and it’s more than just sneakers on display. The activations celebrate the 10-year legacy of the GEL-QUANTUM™ series, while cementing ASICS as a serious player in the sport-meets-streetwear space.
Both cities will see spaces transformed into immersive hubs of culture, movement, and style. In Sydney, Chinatown Country Club will host a line-up of wellness-driven and creative experiences – from mindful sound baths to matcha workshops and DJ-led sneaker nights. Melbourne’s No Vacancy takes it in a different direction, tapping into the city’s café and creative culture with coffee-and-DJ morning sessions, sake tastings, and guided breathwork designed to recharge mid-week.
On top of the lifestyle activations, the pop-ups deliver what sneakerheads really want – exclusive heat. Attendees can shop the latest drops, revisit some of ASICS’ most coveted collabs in extremely limited numbers, and even get their hands on the Jungle Jungle x GEL-CUMULUS™ 16, a handcrafted release that blends artistry with cultural connection.
“With these pop-ups, we’re not just showcasing sneakers – we’re creating new ways to connect with the community through music, mindfulness, and streetwear,” says Mark Brunton, Managing Director of ASICS Oceania.
For a brand built on the ethos of a sound mind in a sound body, this marks a bold new chapter. It’s where movement, mindfulness, and culture collide – and where the future of ASICS SportStyle in Australia begins.
We interrupt our regular sneaker programming for an unplanned surprise pickup! Today, we’re taking a closer look at the Nigel Sylvester x Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Better With Time” in the Black Muslin Varsity Red colorway.
This collaboration draws inspiration from Nigel’s BMX lifestyle, where his Jordans naturally scuff and wear down over time. The design celebrates that story with pre-aged details that highlight his journey.
Honestly, this pair wasn’t even on my radar. But during a local shock drop, I tried them on, and they instantly impressed me. The comfort was spot on, and the style clicked—so I scooped them up right away. For sizing reference, Jordan 1 Lows usually fit half a size big, so keep that in mind when shopping online.
What I like right away is the sleek toebox shape and the soft, premium black semi-tumbled leather. The storytelling details are next level too:
A unique “Bike Air” logo on the tongue, insole, and box.
“Jordan Biking Co. Est. 2017” printed on the inner liner.
A hand-sketched 3M Nike Swoosh on the lateral side and a reflective 3M Swoosh on the medial.
An embossed Jordan Wings logo on the heel.
Extra pairs of black and red laces
Plus, a mini baby Swoosh on the toebox.
On foot, they feel comfortable, though I didn’t really notice the “extra padding” Nigel mentioned in interviews. To me, the insoles felt like regular Dream Cells. And while the pre-aged, vintage effect adds character, I personally think true character should come from the owner wearing them in naturally.
So, are they worth it? In hand and on foot, the Nigel Sylvester Jordan 1 Low looks better than most online pictures. If you can grab them for retail or just slightly above, and especially if you’re a Nigel fan, they’re absolutely worth the pickup. But chasing high resell prices? For me, that’s a pass.
British retailer END. links up with ASICS to drop a fresh take on the archival GEL-NIMBUS™ 10.1, blending late-night corner shop nostalgia with performance-built comfort. To mark the 35th anniversary of the iconic GEL-LYTE III, ASICS has joined forces with Tokyo’s mita sneakers for an exclusive release — the GEL-LYTE ∞ (Mugen). Three years in the making, this sneaker is a celebration of ASICS heritage, design innovation, and Japanese sneaker culture.
The name “∞” (Mugen) is inspired by the number 8 — the sum of the third and fifth generations of the GEL-LYTE series — symbolising infinite possibilities. This hybrid silhouette combines the best of two legends: the distinctive split tongue of the GEL-LYTE III and the streamlined overlays of the GEL-LYTE V. The result is a fresh, modern shape that still carries the DNA of ASICS’ most celebrated models.
Dressed in the signature ‘TRICO’ colour palette — a deep navy and blue accented with red and white — the sneakers pays homage to mita sneakers’ past collaborations with ASICS. The ‘TRICO’ name is a double nod to the tricolour of the Japanese flag and the original Mexico line from Onitsuka Tiger, long before ASICS became the global sportswear powerhouse it is today.
This Japan-exclusive release represents more than just a sneaker; it’s a symbolic bridge between eras, blending the past, present, and future of ASICS into one collectible pair. With its limited availability, unique design heritage, and cultural significance, the mita sneakers x ASICS GEL-LYTE ∞ ‘TRICO’ is destined to become one of the standout releases of 2025.
Release Details:
Colourway: Navy/Blue
Style Code: 1201A939-400
Price: ¥25,300
Sizes: 23.5cm – 29.5cm, 30.5cm

Did the New ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 I AMP Outshine the Collab? Let’s Find Out!
ASICS might have just done it. The latest GR release—the GEL-Quantum 360 I AMP in Piedmont Grey/Steel Grey—might actually beat out a recent collab. And that’s saying a lot.
ASICS has a track record of dropping GRs that rival their collaborative counterparts. This pair? No exception. It’s clean, refined, and built like a premium release.
Let’s talk details.
You’re getting a breathable, closed-knit upper in shades of light grey. Soft, supple suede wraps around the toe box, side panels, and heel, adding a luxe touch. No tiger stripes here—instead, a DNA-like striped design nods to ASICS heritage. Subtle silver accents hit the toe and heel, while reflective 3M shines on the upper heel.
But that’s not all.
Salmon-colored lace stays bring a bold pop. Matching oval grey laces keep things clean. Underfoot, the darker EVA midsole carries over the jacquard-style raised prints from the OGs. Cushioning comes from the full-length segmented 360 GEL and FFBlast plus foam—responsive, plush, and built for all-day wear.
There’s also a salmon-colored TPU Trusstic System for stability and energy return. Black high-abrasion rubber underneath ensures top-tier traction.
Another colorway—Oats—dropped alongside this one. But for me? This grey pair hits harder. It gives off strong nostalgic “Pigeon” vibes.
They fit true to size but run narrow. Wide footers, go half a size up.
