The wait is finally over. After revealing this year’s cover athletes, 2K has officially dropped the first gameplay trailer for NBA 2K27, giving fans their first proper look at what could be the franchise’s most authentic basketball experience yet.

Front and centre are this year’s cover stars — Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose — alongside a stacked lineup of NBA and WNBA superstars. The trailer showcases upgraded player models, smoother animations, realistic arena presentation, and the kind of highlight plays that have become synonymous with the NBA 2K series.

While 2K is keeping plenty of gameplay details under wraps for now, the latest footage makes one thing clear: NBA 2K27 is aiming to deliver an even more immersive experience on both ends of the floor. From explosive fast breaks and powerful dunks to silky jump shots and lockdown defense, every sequence feels faster, sharper, and more lifelike than before.
The gameplay reveal is just the beginning. 2K has also confirmed that “The Preseason Breakdown: NBA 2K27 Game Reveal” will stream live on August 18, where fans can expect a deeper dive into gameplay improvements, new features, and what’s coming across MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, and more before launch.

NBA 2K27 tips off on September 4, with Early Access beginning on August 29 for players who purchase the Deluxe or Ultra Edition. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
If the gameplay trailer is anything to go by, NBA 2K27 is shaping up to be another massive year for basketball fans. Whether you’re grinding through MyCAREER, building your dream MyTEAM, or simply chasing the perfect poster dunk, this season looks ready to raise the bar once again.
