EARLS Collection x ASICS GT-2160™

Luxury clothing brand EARLS Collection has joined forces with ASICS Sportstyle for their first ever collaboration. In 2023, we saw huge collaborations and success of the GT-2160™ sneaker. ASICS are not yet done with this silhouette. The EARLS Collection x ASICS GT-2160™ has elements that tells the story of EARLS Collection founder, Lewi Brown.

The EARLS Collection x ASICS GT-2160™ sneaker was inspired by Brown’s Māori lineage and the culture that permeates it. Inspired by iconic Māori touchstones such as pounamu, paua and the weaving of flax, the collaboration sneaker reflects the space inhabited by its designer throughout the formative years of his life.

Featuring a mix of natural cotton mesh and slightly brushed suede for the upper, the sneaker’s special printed sock liner celebrates Brown’s late grandfather. Hints of green are inspired by the various shades found in pounamu, visible from the back of the shoe to the sole and all the way through to custom two-tone flat woven laces.

The EARLS Collection x ASICS GT-2160™ sneaker will launch exclusively online via raffle at EARLS Collection this Sunday, 11th of February at 6PM AEDT / 8PM NZDT. Raffle ends on the Friday, 16th of February. Global launch will be on Friday, the 23rd of February from asics.com and selected ASICS stockists.

ASICS has not eased off the gas pedal when it comes to releasing awesome colourways of its coveted silhouette, the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14. In early 2024, it released a new colourway with its long-time collaborator from Japan — atmos!

The ever-reliable Y2K era ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 returns with its full mesh uppers, Gel cushioning technology, and TRUSSTIC™ TPU stabilizing shank plates. Dressed in black and grey with metallic purple accents, this new collaboration draws heavy inspiration from the Tokyo nightlife!

Retailing for $240, these futuristic atmos collaboration kicks are now available at asics.com.

KENZO x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 20

ASICS has revealed its first sneaker collaboration with KENZO, which has been designed by KENZO’s Artistic Director, Nigo. There will be three colorways of the GEL-KAYANO 20 that will combine KENZO’s heritage with advanced ASICS craftsmanship.


Originally launched in 2013, the GEL-KAYANO 20 sneaker is formerly recognized for its structural cushioning capabilities while running longer distances. Its architectural aesthetic draws design influences from buildings and cars, creating a technical shape that yields a wide range of functional capabilities for everyday experiences. The heritage stability trainer is being relaunched by KENZO as a lifestyle sneaker that continues to embody advanced comfort properties and a technical design language.


Two of the shoe’s colorways and materials are inspired by KENZO’s tiger graphics. Each upper construction implements a faux-fur application that’s met with a velour texture, while modifying the TPU cage with a tiger stripe motif. The Digital Aqua/Black colorway draws inspiration from KENZO’s celebrated use of bright colors in their designs, whereas the Glacier Grey/Black iteration references the look of white tigers and one of the original GEL-KAYANO 20 colorways. Meanwhile, the third colorway references the idea of “running around the world.”

Its vivid color pops reference KENZO brand founder, Kenzo Takada’s travels around the world and various country flags, while the pattern on the upper paneling features animal embossed details. Lastly, the outsole’s color is meant to symbolize the ground that we walk on.


The KENZO x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 20 sneaker will be available from January 26th 2024 for $520 at ASICS.COM and through a network of selected retailers.

HELLO KITTY x BABY-G

CASIO has announced the release of the newest addition to its family of BABY-G shock-resistant watches. The new BGD-565KT-7 features the popular character HELLO KITTY from Sanrio Co., Ltd. This very special collaboration watch marks both the 50th anniversary of HELLO KITTY and the 30th anniversary of BABY-G.

The collaboration watch is based on the BGD-565, which inherits the design of the first BABY-G model. The new watch is given the white, red, and blue colour scheme of HELLO KITTY’s debut designs from 1974. Red and blue band rings accent the design’s base tone of white.

The band, made with bio-based resin, is covered in printed faces of the charming, animated character from the 1970s — HELLO KITTY laughing, winking, and looking surprised. When the backlight is on, her eyes, nose, and whiskers appear on the watch LCD and are topped with the ribbon design on the dial to complete the HELLO KITTY face.

In addition to a total of 50 HELLO KITTY details covering the entire watch in celebration of her 50th anniversary, this collaboration model comes in special packaging that includes a cloth pouch inspired by the watch design. Highlighting the original look of this sweet Sanrio character, this BABY-G exudes a retro charm worthy of the classic HELLO KITTY design.

Jae Tips x Saucony Grid Azura 2000 'Remember Who Fronted'

Jae Tips who is best known for his contributions to the fitted hat community, in 2023 the Bronx native designer, rapper and sneakerhead released his first shoe collaboration with Saucony that many consider to be the best shoe of the year. The “Remember Who Fronted” Grid Azura 2000 construction, features quality materials supplied by Wolverine Worldwide, contrasting colours and patterns inspired by flowers that shouldn’t work together. However, they really do. This is why Sole Kitchen x The Kickz Stand has chosen this the “Remember Who Fronted” as our joint first inaugural 2023 SOTY!

SolekitchenAu is a collective of seven sneaker enthusiasts that was established in 2022. SolekitchenAu is not only a podcast that discusses all things sneakers but our aim is to grow and give back to the community. Did someone say translucent upper?!?… To take the Y2K mesh, runner and flip it on its head. It had to be Above the Clouds store, To take the ASICS GT 2160 and make it stand out in a crowd. ATC has definitely done this with hits of green, silver and wide open mesh placed together over the translucent material. This ASICS Collab will take not only your sneaker game, but sock game too on all new level! The unique styling And head turning colourway, not to mention the reptile like scale pattern over the sneaker, will make you appreciate this this shoe every time that you see it on foot. The mint, green and ATC blue hits really finish the clean look to this classic silhouette. Another Aussie boutique that definitely deserves a place in the top 10 sneakers of 2023.

Kith x Marvel XMen x Asic Gel Lyte lll '07 Remastered Pack

As I mentioned in a pod interview with the crew from @inkixwetrust, this pair just played so much on my childhood and obsession with anything X-Men. This collaboration was the perfect tribute to the animated television series, and collectable cards. I love that Ronnie’s inner child inspired the design elements of box and shoe, and added to one of the best sneaker unboxing experiences I’ve ever had. Firstly, the box, covered in X-Men graphics, sealed and once openned transforms into the display box that’s reminiscent of box that stores the packets of cards you’d buy from Granny May’s (I’m that old). Secondly, the foil packet storing the shoe requires you to carefully rip the top edge, like opening a packet of Ultra Fleer X-Men cards. Thirdly, the sneakers, and ERMAHGERD the sneakers! I love that the sneaker was given the “remastered” treatment – quality materials and OG shape. I love that you had no clue which character inspired sneaker you got, and it wouldn’t matter which one you’d get because they’re all unique in their own right – Seven different pairs, that pay homage to size iconic characters. The story telling of this pack, combined with the unboxing experience and the quality of the sneaker, is the reason why my Cyclops pair is in my Top 10 Sneakers of 2023. Honestly, I’m humming the theme song of the animated series as I type this!!!

Jordan IV Retro SB Pine Green

A sign of the times to have two of the most hyped Nike and Jordan silhouettes in recent memory to come together. many sneakerheads and press have this as their 2023 sneaker of the year. I can understand why, with a Jordan 4 that has been wear tested by skaters and made to actually do kickflips as well as shoot hoops on the court. But the real magic is that Nike SB have made this retro Jordan much more comfortable with their re-engineering touches. No more pinkie crush for me, These slight changes are said to be included in future Jordan 4s, meaning you can teach an old Jordan new (skate) tricks.
