For years, Pokémon fans have imagined what it would be like to train their favourite Pokémon in LEGO form. Now, that dream has levelled up. The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International have officially launched the new LEGO Pokémon SMART Play range, introducing interactive brick-built Pokémon that respond to the way you play—all without a screen.

Unlike traditional LEGO sets, the new SMART Play lineup is designed to go beyond the build. Powered by the new LEGO SMART Brick technology, these Pokémon can react through light, sound, motion, and sensing, creating a hands-on experience where kids can train, nurture, battle, and bond with their favourite Pokémon just like real Trainers.

The launch includes 12 new sets featuring fan favourites including Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Eevee, Gengar, Mew, Mewtwo, Umbreon, Garchomp, Cubone, Jigglypuff, and more. Whether you’re feeding Pikachu a brick-built sandwich, searching ancient ruins for Mew, or recreating Mewtwo’s dramatic lab escape, each set offers its own unique adventure.

Leading the collection are two SMART Play All-in-One sets. Training House with Pikachu lets builders feed, train, and battle alongside the iconic Electric-type Pokémon, while Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle delivers an action-packed showdown complete with two SMART Bricks for an even more interactive experience. The remaining compatible sets expand the world even further, allowing Trainers to build their own Pokémon journeys one set at a time.

The best part? They’re already available. The LEGO Pokémon SMART Play range is now available through LEGO.com, LEGO Stores, and selected retailers, with Australia among the launch markets. Select LEGO Stores are also celebrating with special Pokémon GO! experiences, giving fans the chance to unlock exclusive in-game rewards and collectibles while stocks last.

Whether you’re introducing a new generation to Pokémon or you’re someone who grew up chasing Gym Badges and filling out the Pokédex, LEGO Pokémon SMART Play feels like the next evolution of interactive play. It’s nostalgic, innovative, and easily one of the coolest collaborations LEGO has ever built.
