When you hear the words Jordan 5 & Grape in the same sentence, you know its bound to be a special shoe. Lets go back to 1990 when Jordan Brand released the first Air Jordan 5 “Grape” This shoe became a hit classic for collectors. 23 years later saw the release of the “Black Grape” followed by the “Pre-Grape” in 2015. The most recent version of the Grape series saw the “Fresh Prince” version in 2018 which Will Smith made famous due to his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air status. Fast forward to 2020 and now we have another take on the classic “Grape” colour scheme.
The “Alternate Grape” comes in a mix of Grape Ice, Black, Clear & New Emerald. Unfortunately at time of writing this, no leaked photos have surfaced from Jordan Brand, but this Air Jordan 5 retro is expected to feature a purple suede upper with black & new emerald accents atop of an icy outsole. Also, there is no word as to whether these will feature the imfamous “Nike Air” heel tabs or the jumpman heel tabs.
This colourway was originally set to be released in the US on the 27th June, however has since been revised to the 7th July. No word on the Australian release date as of yet. We are hearing through our channels that there is about a month delay in releases here in Australia compared to the US due to the COVID-19 situation causing dramas with shipping stock around the world.
