Releasing on September 5th are the Asics x AFFIX collaboration on the GEL-KINSEI. Being one of the most technical running shoes on the market its packed with technical features. The Heel unit alone has a complex I.G.S (Impact Guidance System) that is comprised of 3 substantially sized GEL technology units which are fused together into it. Since the GEL-KINSEI is a high mileage shoe they used weight reducing technology called TRUSSTIC around the arch to lessen the overall weight and to increase the longevity of the sole.
Another technical feature goes into the backstory of the collaboration with AFFIX. The AFFIX brand has a cult following and explores the concept of Global Utility. One of the main influences going into the design comes from the colours of a High-Pressure Water cutting system. Which (judging from the title of this article) you know what they did with some of the shoes. Check out images below
The 2019 AFFIX x GEL-KINSEI OG in both colour ways release on September 5th 2019 in selected retailers globally.

The Nike Huarache, a shoe originally released back in 1991 that gave a radical new approach for sneakerheads. A shoe that isnt as popular as the Yeezy or Air Jordan yet continues to go about its business.
Now with the introduction of the FitAdapt technology, an intelligent platform that updates and evolves along with the user, we see the shoe meet this technology for what will become a game changer for sneakerheads.
The technology, which is run from a midfoot motor, is controlled by a multi-faceted Nike Adapt app. With the app, wearers of the Nike Adapt Huarache are greeted by a universal login (consistent for all Nike FitAdapt product — current and future), a themed interface specific to the Huarache and a number of preset fit recommendations for foot type and activity. The functionality of the app can also be driven by Apple Watch and Siri, two advances that support on-the-go shifts.
The inital colourways of the Nike Adapt Huarache are set for a September 13th release in the US on SNKRS app and set retailers. As for an Australian release date, we may have to wait.
Well this one came out of no where. Today, Terminator: Dark Fate dropped a new trailer for the upcoming release on the 1st November.
More then two decades after the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Sarah Connor sets out to protect a young woman named Dami Ramos and her friends, as a liquid metal terminator (played by Gabriel Luna known for his role as Ghost Rider from Season 4 of Agents of SHIELD) sent from the future attempts to terminate them to adjust the timeline once again.
This trailer looks bad ass. Tim Miller directs this version with James Cameron coming back on board as producer.
Terminator: Dark Fate in cinemas on 1st November 2019
After nearly a 10 year hiatus, ASICS is set to bring back an iconic performance trainer. The original, much loved and recognized Glacier/Black colorway of the GEL-KINSEI is set drop at the end of August.
Hisanori Fujita, the lead designer of the GEL-KINSEI was greatly influenced by traditional Japanese heritage. The development of the GEL-KINSEI was largely impacted by the armour of the fierce Samurais during the EDO period in Japan. The armours where meant to make a bold statement as evident in their design. And while mechanically and technically protective, they allowed the freedom of movement to the ancient warriors. Hisanori took all these traits and imbued them to the DNA of the GEL-KINSEI.
The GEL-KINSEI initially made its debut in 2006. The trainer was widely viewed as ahead of its time. Not only was it technically and mechanically alluring, but it was saturated with all of ASICS’ available advance performance features.
The ground breaking TRUSSTIC technology placed under the arc of the shoe and which was first introduced in the model, allowed ASICS to significantly reduce the overall weight of the shoe. Not only did this allow for longer wear but also prolonged the life of the sole. But the true hero of the trainer is the IGS (Impact Guidance System) technology. 3 large sections of GEL technology are bonded to the heel area. It has the ability to absorb rear foot impact and at the same time provide stability to the runner as the foot travels through. This provides an excellent transition from foot impact to toe-off. Finally, the BIOMORPHIC FIT tech identical to the GEL-KAYANO was used on the uppers to provide maximum comfort and flexibility on the foot.
ASICS brought back a modern classic. The techno-modern styling of the GEL-KINSEI seems to seamlessly fit right into today’s modern fashion standards. And yet it is imbued with ground-breaking technology that still allows it to meet and exceed the demands of modern athletes.
“I initially wanted a mismatched Kyrie 5 pair via Nike ID but it was too expensive to make 2 pairs and it wasn’t really practical to only use one half of each for balling. However, when I saw leaked images and previews of the Kyrie 5 x Spongebob on the internet I knew straight away copping those would be a much better option.
I camped out for the Spongebob and Patrick Kyrie 5s even though I would only be using one half of each pair. Luckily enough, a mate of mine saw the mismatched pair I was wearing on court and immediately said he wanted the same kicks. I ended up selling him the other half of the pairs I didn’t need. In the end it all worked out. I managed to get the mismatched pair I wanted for the cost of 1 pack.
Kyrie 5s are amazing to ball in. The Ankle support is top notch. The traction is amazing, specially on the gum soled spongebob version. It’s very grippy during lateral movements and hesi-fakes during fast breaks. Breathable uppers that retains it shape and doesn’t allow the feet to overheat. Pillowy cushioning because of the Zoom Air Turbo. I would recommend going up half a size up, because it can be a bit tight on the toe-box area.
Having been a big fan of the show, I had this funny idea. Wearing mismatched pairs feels like wearing two characters. If Patrick has an off night, then maybe Spongebob can step-up and make me play better.”
