It’s More Than Just Sneakers Sydney 2019 Recap

0

The final stop on the IMTJS Lifestyle Tour brought us back to our hometown of Sydney, Australia on the long weekend in October. Unfortunately once again, the weather gods weren’t too nice to us bringing us some much needed rain in the morning of the event.

This year we ended up leaving half court free inside for people to shoot around and play a game of basketball rather then outside in the rain. The rain however didn’t stop people lining up waiting to get their hands on a killer deal.

They always say “Save the best for last” and this year it really felt like we did in Sydney. The turnout in Sydney is always amazing and this year the crowd numbers didnt disappoint. People lining up from 8am and the amount of vendors that came out in numbers this year

The Kickz Stand would love to thank all the supporters, vendors and people that have come through all events in 2019 in making it one of our most successful years to date. Stay tuned for 2020 as dates are already locked in and we are ready to go again!

The relationship between Sony & Marvel Studios has been somewhat rocky over the past few months with the fallout from the Spiderman series. But it looks like its back on track again with another antihero movie about to hit the screens this year.

Morbius dives into the story of Dr Michael Morbius. A doctor who is on a mission to cure himself of a rare blood condition by experimenting with vampire bats accidently turns himself into a living vampire.

Jared Leto stars in the role as Dr Michael Morbius and it looks like this movie will tie into the Spiderman/Venom universe.

Singapore, A small but beautiful island-city-nation located heart of South-East Asia. It’s not just a great place for a holiday, it has a large and well supported Sneaker and Streetwear Community. ‘Street Superior 2019’ was the event where we found this out and more!

From the group that ran the ‘Sole Superior’ events, Street Superior 2019 was the 2nd event held in its current iteration. This time, the event venue was ‘Scape Singapore’. A creative space and hub just off the Orchard Road Shopping district, which made this very central and accessible to the public.

The venue was divided into various sections. The Main building hosted showcases from Limited Edition, WellBredStore, Swatch Watches and VANS to name a few. The crowds were in awe of the crazy installations like the big wall of Supreme Skate Decks and the 60th Anniversary of Barbie. The upper floors also hosted the vintage market and the ‘Big Big Con’ toys and collectables expo.

The outdoor area included the Festival Village stage , The Trading PIT and SS Marketplace. These areas were well packed throughout the event with People bring the Buy/Sell/Trade vibes. With so much heat on display sale, the temperatures remained Hot all event long!

Cosmonauts Spaceware Pop-Up

All pairs on display are powered by VeChain technology. We also partnered with Cosmonauts Spacewear to launch their brand in Singapore, as well as releasing our ‘Bring back the 90’s’ collaboration Tee and pack.

Overall, we had so much fun at Street Superior 2019. We thank the team over at Street Superior for having us there and we can’t wait for the 2020 event!
