ASICS SportStyle continues to explore its deep performance archives with the introduction of the ASICS HYPERSYNC, a silhouette that draws clear inspiration from the brand’s heritage in wrestling and track & field footwear. While rooted in sport, the design has been reinterpreted through a lifestyle lens, delivering a sleek, low-profile sneaker that aligns with the current shift toward slimmer, more agile silhouettes.
At a time when bulky runners are beginning to share space with more streamlined footwear, the HYPERSYNC feels like a natural progression. Its design sits closer to the ground than many contemporary trainers, creating a connected feel underfoot while maintaining the everyday versatility expected from modern lifestyle releases.

The upper pulls design cues from the archival ASICS HYPERPOWER track model, translating its athletic DNA into a more contemporary form. Synthetic leather overlays provide structure across the upper, while decorative stitching adds subtle visual depth. Beneath those layers sits breathable air-mesh, introducing both ventilation and texture to the overall build. The combination results in a sneaker that balances technical detailing with a clean, sport-driven aesthetic.

Underfoot, the HYPERSYNC continues its nod to performance heritage by referencing the tooling of the ASICS SNAPPDOWN wrestling series. The outsole borrows elements from the grappling-focused design language of those models, resulting in a streamlined base that complements the shoe’s minimal profile. A modified sockliner has also been integrated to improve step-in comfort, ensuring the sneaker remains wearable throughout the day despite its sport-inspired construction.

The result is a silhouette that bridges past and present. By combining elements from track spikes and wrestling footwear with modern materials and lifestyle-focused comfort, ASICS SportStyle delivers a design that feels both archival and contemporary. Rather than simply recreating a retro model, the HYPERSYNC reinterprets performance heritage for the street—subtle in its references but clear in its intent.
The HYPERSYNC™ shoe is now available online and at select retailers for $180. For more information visit ASICS.com.au
