Loki Season 2 Trailer

Marvel Studios this week has released the trailer for the 2nd Season of Loki which will stream on Disney+ later this year. Boy, we cant wait for this one!

Loki was a huge hit for both Disney+ and Marvel Studios back in 2021 and going by this trailer, its going to keep up the pace of the time traveling god of mischef.

Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius (Owen Wilson), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Judge Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), Miss Minutes (voiced by Tara Strong) and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

***SPOILER ALERT***

After the events of Season 1 saw his variant Sylvie kill He Who Remains and unleash the wrath of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) upon the multiverse, Loki must once again embark on an adventure to keep reality from collapsing. The last time we saw Loki was in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where he and Morbius were keeping tabs on one of Kang’s mysterious variants known as Victor Timely.

Beyond being tasked with mopping up that murderous mess, Loki and Mobius also have to solve the titular trickster’s new condition: timeslipping. Early in the trailer, Loki unpromptly travels both forward and backward in time. Loki is seen glitching in and out of the TVA offices, which Ke Huy Quan’s OB identifies as the god of mischief undergoing timeslipping, a process that should be impossible in TVA HQ. Not only that, but to OB’s knowledge, there is no defined solution to timeslipping.

This season looks to be as twisted and fun as the previous. We cannot wait for this to hit the streaming service.

NBA Presents: Foundations with Luc Longely

The NBA have released a feature length documentary chronicling Luc Longely’s personal and professional journey in the NBA called “Foundations”. This begins streaming on the NBA App and website from Wednesday 2nd August with 4 parts. We have been privileged enough to have an early sneak peak at this series in whole to provide this review.

Begin we begin, lets start it back a few years and i think every basketball fan will remember “The Last Dance” that ESPN & Netflix released going over Michael Jordan’s career. Well, this is the other side of that from Australian basketballer Luc Longely, who was fortunate enough to play 3 seasons with the Chicago Bulls in the 90s during what was the greatest era of the NBA.

The documentary is broken into 4 parts:
“Beginnings”
“Welcome To The League”
“Running With The Bulls”
“3-Peat”

The series goes over how Luc’s career. This was all in a time in which social media and mobile phones didnt exisit. How he was scouted, to getting drafted into the NBA then becoming what will be the foundation of future Australian basketballer players becoming big in the NBA.

Longely did what people didnt think he could do in a time in which Australians werent big in Basketball. Playing with the GOAT, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls during their historic 3-Peat from 1996-1998 before moving on then eventually retiring in 2001 due to injuries.

After taking time away from the game once he retired, Longely has setup his legacy off the court, first as an assistant coach of the Australian Boomers under previous coach Andrej Lemanis and now in his current role as an advisor and part owner of the Sydney Kings, who have won the last 2 NBL Championships along with sending several players to the NBA.

This series is worth the watch if you’re a die hard NBA fan, even just to get the view from Longley himself about his time with Michael Jordan.

AFEW and Diadora celebrate the heritage of Dino Russo and the impact he had on the world of tennis with the release of the B.560 ‘Dino Russo.’ Its silhouette is a fusion of tennis and fashion, inspired by the greatness on the court, and made for the needs of the street.

This collaboration is to pay homage to the Italian tennis player Dino Russo, the best player who never turned pro. AFEW x Diadora B.560 ‘Dino Russo’ is made in Italy, with handcrafted luxury leather. The Diadora B.560 is the signature sneaker of German tennis legend Boris Becker.

Tennis, elegant and historic, etched its mark on fashion’s soul. Early legends such as Suzanne Lenglen and Bill Tilden brought a sense of style and flamboyance to the court, but the main impact on the fashion world started with the rise of televised matches with players like Boris Becker, Björn Borg or Martina Navratilova.

While the world was celebrating the newly famed masters of the racket, one of the greatest talents of the sport stayed true to his passion, not seduced by potential wealth and fame: Dino Russo.

Since his youth, Dino’s love for the sport consumed him. He dedicated hours and hours to it, pushing his techniques to the limit.

The joy of the game, camaraderie with peers, and the beauty of competition was what he prized above materialistic rewards. The tennis world marvelled, witnessing Dino’s resolute path and steadfast creed. Titles, accolades, and wealth were not his pursuits; his legacy surpassed mere worldly gains.

The Marvels New Trailer

Well, its been a minute. Since we have the SAG-AFTRA (Actors) & Writers on stirke in Hollywood, alot has been either pushed back or stopped for the time being. SDCC is on this weekend, and this would normally bring LOTS of new trailers and panels. With the strike, alot of this isnt happening.

So here we are. Marvel Studios today, dropped the 2nd trailer for The Marvels. We got our first look back in April, and now time for a more indepth look. Off we go into the cosmos with Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau & new comer Kamala Khan. These three characters share such a unique connection in the comics, and the Disney+ Ms. Marvel series highlighted so well how Khan fits into the equation. Monica was last seen in WandaVision, but there was plenty of material there to play off of in The Marvels, and much of it will likely bring Monica into some conflict with Carol. Speaking of Carol, she was last seen briefly in Shang-Chi, but the last time we actually saw her in action was during Avengers: Endgame.

The Marvels

The official synopsis for The Marvels is as follows:

“Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.”

The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta and stars Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Teyonah Parris (Photon), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-Joon.

The Marvels hits cinemas on November 9th 2023 here in Australia and November 10th 2023 worldwide

Dime x ASICS GT-2160™

DC Shoes x atmos x Kinnikuman Collection

DC Shoes partners with Japanese powerhouse atmos and cult manga character Kinnikuman for this unique collaboration. The collaboration is inspired by the character Kinnikuman, an unskilled superhero who overcomes his past with bravery and strength.

The collection features a bold colour palette of DC’s popular Manteca sneakers with a custom box and limited edition Kinnikuman vinyl collectibles inspired by Kinnikuman‘s manga.  A complimentary vinyl art collectible accompanies the three DC Manteca shoe colourways – available in classic, transparent, or glow-in-the-dark.

Kinnikuman’s superhero costume inspired the first Manteca colourway, complete with teal and pink pops. There is a transparent version of the vinyl art collectible plus a glow-in-the-dark option.

The second Manteca colourway was inspired by Robinmask, one of Kinnikuman’s superhero friends. His navy, red and gold costume is reflected in the sneaker design.

Saint Barkley x Sole Superior

Our homies from Singapore, Sole Superior, join forces with Indonesian sneaker brand Saint Barkley for a limited edition sneaker. This international collaboration project was born from mutual admiration and respect, and it took 4 years in the making.

First previewed in Singapore at Sole Superior last November 2022 and introduced to the Indonesian community at Jakarta Sneaker Day in February 2023, the collaboration generated unplanned buzz when the sample pairs were stolen from the secured display. Taking this in a positive light, both Saint Barkley and Sole Superior offered a reward for any assistance in recovering the samples, praising the sneaker thief for having “Terrific Taste, Terrible Ethics”. The samples were never recovered.

ASICS Sportstyle Revives the GT-2160™ 

Today, ASICS SportStyle announces the return of the GT-2160™ sneaker that originally debuted within the GT-2000™ series during the 2010s. The reissue of the heritage model highlights the tech evolution that was taking place in this era of running shoe development. 

This shoe retains its sleek and wavy aesthetic that was symbolic of the GT-2000™ series’ technical design language. Meanwhile, dual GEL™ technology inserts are positioned in the rearfoot to help create advanced cushioning and comfort underfoot. The design also includes a segmented midsole construction that replicates a popular development feature that became popular amongst ASICS running shoe models between the mid 2000s and late 2010s.

The GT-2160™ sneaker will launch with collaborations from DIME and Cecilie Bahnsen that include special iterations to mark the return of the heritage runner.

The inline version will launch Friday, July 7th, in White/Pure Silver, White/Illusion Blue, and White/Shamrock Green on ASICS SportStyle online and in select stores for $180 AUD. 

The shoe will be available online at the ASICS SPORTSTYLE website  from 7 July with an RRP of $180.
