SNKRDUNK Launches Selling Function

0

Japan’s top sneaker and streetwear marketplace SNKRDUNK has recently unlocked its selling function on its global app as part of its international expansion. This added feature now allows international users to list their sneakers for sale, with the potential for it to be viewed by over 4.5 million buyers worldwide.

It’s All Yours: Instant Listing, No Platform Fees
The global SNKRDUNK app has experienced a rapidly-growing user base—particularly in Singapore, Australia and the United States—since its launch in 2021. Committed to improving the marketplace experience for this highly engaged community, SNKRDUNK expedited the launch of its crucial selling feature, allowing sneakerheads to sell their authentic sneakers to over 4.5 million potential buyers across the globe.

Currently, users from the following 8 countries will be able to access the selling feature, with more countries added in the coming months:
● Singapore
● Australia
● United States
● Canada
● New Zealand
● Malaysia
● South Korea
● Macau
● Thailand
● Indonesia
● China
● India
● Philippines
● Vietnam
● Hong Kong

Differentiating itself through competitive offerings, SNKRDUNK App continues to offer zero platform fees for buyers and sellers. Notably, sellers will be able to instantly list their sneakers on SNKRDUNK with no listing fees. When their item has been purchased by a buyer, sellers simply send over their sneakers to SNKRDUNK’s Singapore-based warehouse for authentication. As the platform has maintained since its inception, no authentication service fees will be charged to either buyer or seller.

Reach a New Category of Buyers
This unlocked selling function is particularly attractive due to SNKRDUNK’s roots in fashion-centric Japan and physical presence in Singapore, allowing sneaker collectors to sell their coveted items to potential Japanese buyers and neighbouring countries, like Taiwan, Indonesia, and India—all of which have been notoriously hard to penetrate from English-based platforms.

Expert Authentication: Only the Real Deal
Although SNKRDUNK’s seller base has expanded to include a larger international pool from 8 countries, the platform continues to uphold its strict authentication standards. Since 2021, SNKRDUNK has been revered for its stringent authentication system which ensures its leading reputation in the highly lucrative sneaker and streetwear marketplace. The company’s team of expert sneaker authenticators verify the products against a refined database that houses thousands of authentication records, leading to a 99.96% authentication accuracy rate. [Calculated from the number of transactions from 1 March 2021 to 31 March 2022.]

The comprehensive SNKRDUNK authentication process will continue to ensure that all of its
sneakers are 100% authentic, even with the increased volume of sneakers from varied sources. The professionalism of SNKRDUNK’s appraisal process has been recognised and tapped on by Sneaker Con SEA, the famed sneaker conference’s Southeast Asian programme, for its Legit Check service in the sneaker trading pit.

The Kickz Stand’s Hit List #53

0

Briefly tell us your origin story with sneakers. What was the silhouette that got you hooked in?

This would be the Nike Air Jordan 4. As a kid these were very hard to come by (I was living in the Sultanate of Oman in the 80’s at this time) and if you were lucky to get your hands on a pair they came with a pretty hefty price tag. I actually only got into collecting sneakers in 2017 when I just happened to win a pair of Yeezy Zebras. I was drawn to not just the silhouette but the marketing and release process as well as the hype. My collection really took off in 2019. An amazing year that allowed me to relive the 80’s and 90’s all over again. In 2019 I was very lucky to have won the Jordan 4 Bred and the Jordan 6 Infrared through SNS and I picked up the Jordan 11 Bred for retail from a friend later that year.

What is your current rotation like?

It’s varied and depends on the season or weather. Adidas Ultra boost and Yeezys have been my go to for getting errands done around the city, Jordan’s generally for when the wife and I go out as they can be quite versatile by dressing them up or down. I also have a few ASICS Onitsuka Tigers that I’ll wear from time to time.
I’ve been rocking the 9060 model from New Balance a lot recently which is now a regular staple in my rotation.

My current rotation:

2021 Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Patent Bred’
2022 A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4 ‘Violet Ore’
2022 New Balance 9060 ‘Burgundy’
2017 Adidas EQT Support 93/17 ‘Black Glitch’

What is your thought process when creating your amazing sneaker shots?

This hasn’t been easy. I’ve taken inspiration from a lot of people but there is one person in particular who has helped me out a lot – Andy Dutton (@ad_sneaks).
Andy has been very helpful by sharing details around what editing software he uses, tools like lighting and c-stands, lenses he uses and tricks he’s discovered. I work a full time job and I have a family so trying to experiment when I get some free time rarely happens. My nearly 10 year old has several artistic qualities so she’ll also come up with ideas of how to showcase a sneaker. (She came up with the shot show casing the upside down J1 sole rainbow).

My thought process generally entails the sneaker. What are the defining aspects to me that I would like to share with others. I am fascinated with the chunky oversized sole of the NB 9060 and in one of my recent shots of the ‘Nightwatch’ I captained the back of this silhouette to simply highlight the pop of lime green on the outsole and the purple NB logo on the collar. The New Balance inscription in yellow too stood out and I think for me tones the lime green down a little.

Sometimes the shot doesn’t come out as expected but this is all part of my learning process. I can only get better.

G-SHOCK G-SQUAD GBD-H2000 Series

0

CASIO announced the latest addition to the sports-driven G-SQUAD line in the G-SHOCK family of shock-resistant watches. The GBD-H2000 delivers support for multiple sports and boasts a lighter weight to ensure an even more comfortable fit. The new GBD-H2000 series will be available in four models.

The shock-resistant GBD-H2000 is equipped with GPS functionality and six sensors to provide support for a wide range of sports activities, yet is 38% lighter than the previous model, the GBD-H1000. Casio achieved the lighter weight design by creating a more compact case with a built-in GPS antenna and carbon fiber-reinforced case back. The result is an even more comfortable fit on the wrist.

The new watch is equipped with GPS functionality and an optical sensor to measure heart rate, as well as a compass, altitude/air pressure sensor, thermo sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. These high-end technologies enable measurement of distance, speed, pace, and more to support activities from running and biking to swimming.

Training analysis functions are included along with these activity measurements. Algorithms developed by Polar Electro Oy, a pioneer in the industry which has spent nearly 50 years perfecting the art of personalized guidance in fitness, sport and health, are used to measure the burden on the heart and lungs, analyse ratios of energy used separately for carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and perform sleep tracking.

Pairing the watch with the dedicated CASIO WATCHES app allows users to review training data from the watch in greater detail, accessing activity logs, advice on improving sleep and more. Solar-assisted charging is also included to improve ease of use, offering time display powered by solar charging even when the battery runs low.

The case, bezel, and band are made with biomass plastics, an eco-friendly material produced using raw materials from castor seeds and corn.

My Story Presents: Aether Care

0

On a personal level, can you guys tell us who you legends are?

We are 3 brothers with parents from Indonesia who grew up in Perth Western Australia and in a household surrounded by art in all forms from visual arts to music. Our father was a professional visual artist and the creative world was not foreign to us so it was inevitable for us to bring these elements into the brand Aether Care

Do you guys still remember what sneaker or event that got you hooked into the community?

Adam: aka: Radam Royce The sneaker that got me hooked on sneakers was the Nike Air Max 1 OG sport red back when I was working at Footlocker. The event that solidified my love for sneakers and streetwear was Carbon festival back in 2014 and was created by Acclaim Magazine. The festival was held over a few days in Melbourne and as part of it a swapmeet was hosted by Sneaker Freaker. It offered us a chance to meet some of the best in the game such as Bobby Hundreds, Futura and Woody from Sneaker Freaker. It made us love the culture even more and ignited my passion for street wear and sneakers.

What inspired you to build a sneaker/garments after care business?

It was a combination of things; the love for sneakers, fashion and seeing a gap in the market in a world where fashion is fast we wanted to create a product to help people keep their wearables for longer with more chances of the item to be resold or passed on instead of throwing it out just being because the item is dirty or deemed unwearable.

Can you please tell us more about the amazing activities and support you provide not just for the Sneaker community but also in the promotion of mental health care and awareness.

Over the 4 years of business we have held and contributed the best way we can for our community from holding stalls to creating concept activations such as Aether Hotel and Aether Courtside at the recent Summer Jam. We feel the importance in giving back and our duty to be an advocate for mental health as the action of caring carries through to the rest of your actions because if you look good, feel good, you do good. Our latest project for the community is Sunday Kind of Love. A Youtube channel and workshops held at the Aether Care flagship store on how to take care and restore your wearables from sneakers to garments.

Who is your greatest inspiration?

Our mum-

She looked after a family of 5 boys whilst working multiple jobs on her own. She is and always will be our main inspiration, fun fact our company name is actually named after her Maiden name.

What are your plans for the future?

We have multiple parts growing at the moment. We are really excited with new business opportunities, collaborations and if all goes to plan we have some exciting activations in Melbourne and Sydney! Which we will be announcing in the coming months.

Advice for the future entrepreneurs.

Our advice to future entrepreneurs is—Just start! It’s the hardest thing to do once you have started the rest will figure itself out. Just work smart, trust the process and don’t be afraid to fail.

Aether Care High Quality Sneaker and Garment products are available HERE.
A portion of each sale goes to the care and research for mental health.

bal x mita sneakers x ASICS GEL-LYTE™ III OG GTX

0

The latest kicks from ASICS is a three-way partnership with bal and mita sneakers, featuring the masterpiece of the ASICS Sportstyle range, the GEL-LYTE™ III. This collaboration marks bal‘s (formerly known as balanceweardesign), a streetwear brand based in Tokyo, and mita sneakers‘ 20th anniversary.

bal is all about “high quality, modern, casual wear, and graphics based on urban life.” Taking this concept, they have given the popular GEL-LYTE™ III a makeover, changing the signature split tongue into a zip, and applying gunmetal overlays over a solid black toe box and subtle quilted panels to give it a chic look. The quick lace system with a stopper gives a bright pop of red as an accent on the otherwise dark colour scheme.

Functionality is still a main theme though, with GORE-TEX technology keeping your feet dry in wet conditions, and reflective material enhancing visibility for night-time runs.

Will be on sale for ¥19,800 from on the 11th of February, at mita sneakers, the bal flagship store, and ASICS Harajuku and Osaka LINKS Umeda, as well as their respective online stores.

Globally launch for the bal x mita sneakers x ASICS GEL-LYTE™ III OG GTX will be on 18th of February. Available at ASICS.com, Above The Clouds, Up There, Laced and USG. 0

Well, here we are! The Fast & Furious saga is STILL going. No. 10. You would think this would have wrapped up after the death of Paul Walker right? Wrong. When Fast 9 came out, it was confirmed the series would end after the 11th installment.

Now this movie is stacked with hollywood talent. We have various characters coming back from previous movies including Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Cena, Jason Statham and many more. There are reports floating around as well of Gal Gadot returning to reprise her role of Gisele, however this has not been confirmed at time of writing.

This movie marks the ending of The Fast Saga with this being the Part 1 in the 2 part finale. The Fast franchise has brought in over $6 billion at the box office internationally to date

So, its been a minute since we broke the news on this movie but now, we have a trailer, what the movie is about and whos starring

The first trailer for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s new movie dubbed “Air” has been released.

The movie focuses around the early 1980s in how Nike started out in the basketball sneaker game which was created through Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan brand.

The movie is centred around Sonny Vaccaro (played by Matt Damon) as he tries to turn around Nike’s fortunes in the basketball department when he discovers a rookie Michael Jordan and is willing to bet his career on him becoming the next greatest player.

Additional cast includes Jason Bateman as Rob Strasser, Chris Messina as David Falk, Marlon Wayans as George Raveling, Chris Tucker as Howard White, Matthew Maher as Peter Moore, Gustaf Skarsgård as Horst Dassler and Julius Tennon as James Jordan.

Such a release is a significant step for a streamer.

AIR hits cinemas here in Australia in early April 2023

Brain Dead x ASICS GEL-NIMBUS® 9

0

ASICS and Brain Dead first teamed up in 2021 with the TRABUCO MAX™ ‘Chaos Slime’. Both brands continue their successful partnership building two new GEL-NIMBUS® 9 footwear models. The sneakers originally released in 2007, the GEL-NIMBUS® 9 sneakers was built for runners seeking supportive cushioning on the road.

In this early 2000s era of ASICS performance footwear, the development team shifted towards a more segmented midsole design. With GEL® technology inserts in the heel and forefoot, this tooling helped create better cushioning and a more stable landing.

Both ASICS x Brain Dead designs remain true to the original release of the GEL-NIMBUS® 9, and will be launched in two divergent colourways accentuated by bold contrasts and colour blocking; Rio Red and Night Shade. The industrial look harks back to the turn of the millennium aesthetic and styling.

The Brain Dead x ASICS GEL-NIMBUS® 9 capsule collection will retail for $280 AUD and are now available at wearebraindead.com, ASICS.com and select retailers. Make sure you sign up to our news letter. For other ASICS features, click HERE and for sneaker features, click HERE.
