We are excited to introduce to you the latest collaboration project by Quiccs. If you haven’t heard of him, then you better listen up. This talented artist from the Philippines is making his mark once again with global brand powerhouse, adidas.

Juanito ‘Quiccs’ Maiquez, a Filipino toy designer and visual artist, has already had a lot of success with adidas. His ‘Manila Tees’, as well as the ‘Manila Heritage’ colourway for the Harden Vol. 5, which was to celebrate the 123rd Independence Day of the Philippines, proved extremely popular. In this Quiccs x adidas Forum Low collab, he has used his artistry to create a reimagined version of adidas‘ iconic silhouette.

His rendition of the classic adidas sneaker comes after the launch of the FW21 Forum. Those Forum designs celebrated those unafraid to embrace an open attitude to life and redefine the style of tomorrow. Quiccs embodies this spirit, and his Forum marks the first time a Filipino designed an adidas Originals sneaker. This gives Quiccs a space in adidas history as he joins an elite group of global artists and athletes. His passion and work are now immortalised in adidas’ footwear, alongside theirs. Through this collab, he hopes to motivate the next generation of adidas icons to be open and unafraid of new possibilities and experiences.

“Since the beginning of this partnership, I have said how I would like to be able to show and inspire other people that through passion, patience and hard work, one can build their dreams into a reality. ‘Earning my stripes’ was an opportunity I only used to dream of, and now I am living it, and I am honoured to share with my fellow Filipinos – and the rest of the world – an iconic adidas Originals silhouette featuring a design that was a product of my passion and creativity,” says Quiccs.

The striking red stripes represent the ‘Stripes Earned’ through Quiccs’ brand passion. For the artist, this new Forum symbolises the realisation of his lifelong dream of a partnership with adidas. Quiccs takes inspiration from the bestselling Forum 84 Low OG “Blue Thread” and “Pine Green” colourways and infuses the classic look with his own branding. It’s a perfect representation of the Forum’s call to experiment with self-expression and new ideas.

Quiccs fans will quickly spot design elements unique to his artistic DNA, such as his crossbones logo and “TEQ63”. His signature character appears in the reflective 3M™ upper, and as a logo on the gold metal deubré and the back heel.

The tongues feature the words “IT WAS ALL A DREAM” and “01.21.20”. These represent the start of Quiccs’ partnership with adidas and his feeling of gratitude and disbelief in fulfilling his dream.

The straps are interchangeable, a product feature unique to the Forum franchise. The Quiccs Forum straps come in three changeable strap designs, giving its wearers more options for self-expression and style exploration.

The Quiccs x adidas Forum Low ‘Stripes Earned’ will be available on adidas.com.ph, adidas app, and adidas stores in select countries from the 15th of October. Make sure you sign up to our newsletter, so you can stay up to date! For previous adidas features, click here.
