This release is part of a Japan-led special project that revisits ASICS’ most iconic models and reshapes them for today. Led by Shigeyuki Kunii—director of mita sneakers—the project blends deep archive knowledge with a forward-thinking lifestyle approach.
Originally based on the TRANSCEND series after-shoes from 2000, the GEL-YETITOKYO HI was built to give runners relief after trail competitions. Its functional design and unconventional shape quickly caught the attention of the street scene, evolving into a cult lifestyle staple by 2003.
Now reworked for modern wear, this second release features:
