Way of Wade Slides ‘Avocado’

The Way of Wade Slides makes a comeback with three fresh colour options, and today we’re excited to showcase the green variant. Let’s delve into it. The green Way of Wade Slides essentially retain all the beloved technology and specifications found in the original white pair.

The durable and tear-resistant EVA body remains intact, along with the reliable responsive and comfortable Boom cushioning technology in both the forefoot and heel. Details such as Wade’s signature and the Way of Wade logo are also present, as well as the breathable vamp holes in the forefoot, ensuring our feet stay fresh.

However, I’ve observed two new details. Firstly, the Wade logo on the forefoot is no longer a solid black piece but shares the same green color as the entire slide, adorned with textured drawings or writings inside, which adds a cool touch. Secondly, the icy podular soles on the forefoot and heel have been replaced with a tough, durable rubber outsole in a contrasting beige color, which enhances the overall aesthetic of the slides. Despite these changes, the slides remain incredibly comfortable.

This time, I recommend going down two sizes from your usual size; for instance, I opted for a size 7 instead of my usual size 9, which fits perfectly even with socks on. The Avocado Green variant, along with black and beige options, is now available at Throwback Store, Hoopsheaven and WAYOFWADE.COM for $100 AUD.

Kodama Apparel x PlayStation ‘Rise of the Rōnin’

Japanese streetwear brand Kodama Apparel has landed a unique collaboration with PlayStation to enhance and celebrate the highly-anticipated release of the upcoming action-packed game ‘Rise of the Rōnin!’

The collab between Kodama Apparel and PlayStation sees authentic kimono jackets drawing inspiration from ‘Rise of the Rōnin.’ These distinctive jackets were made by hand exclusively for selected Australian game influencers in time for the game’s release. They feature intricate embroidery of the main character of ‘Rise of the Rōnin‘ on the back, and a small PlayStation logo embroidered in red on the front.
If you want to get your hands on your very own genuine kimono jacket, there are similar styles available online. It will have you feeling like a real Japanese warrior, as you get ready to shape the fate of Japan.

We recently tested the 361° Big 3 Future in the vibrant pink colorway on outdoor courts and were impressed by its performance. Now, we’re excited to try out the same model in the first colorway worn by NBA champ Nikola Jokic. Let’s dive in!

Firstly, the hard rubber blue translucent traction excelled on the hardwood surface, providing excellent grip with its circuit-like traction pattern. The cushioning system once again delivered, with the quick CQ Tech foam offering propulsion and the rear Quick Flame CQT foam ensuring ample cushioning and heel comfort. Sandwiched between the two foams is a unique carbon fiber setup, with the lower trident positioned close to the forefoot sole and the remainder supporting the heel, providing superior forward propulsion and torsional support.

Breathability is another standout feature of the shoe, thanks to the upper constructed mostly of large-holed mesh, which promotes airflow without compromising structural integrity, thanks to the innovative carbon fiber woven technology known as C!LK Tech. Beneath the silk and fused uppers lies the Morphit lacing system, with TPU finger-like seat belts securing the forefoot, tinsel wires supporting the midfoot, and plush foam surrounding the heel collar.

The first animated version of the Transformers movie saga since the 1986 version. The story-based origin story set on the Planet Cybertron, giving us a glimpse of a younger Optimus Prime and Megatron. Their relationship from being brothers to the worst of enemies and how they lead their factions the Autobots and the Decepticons.

From the director Josh Cooley who is known for Toy Story 4, Inside Out and UP. Supported with an all-star cast Chris Hemsworth, Bryan Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key, Scarlett Johansson, Jon Hamm and Steve Buscemi.

There is discussion that this will be the first of a 3 part movie series. Breaking down the story progression of the characters into their depiction in the live-action film series.

The Its More Than Just Sneakers lifestyle tour, powered by The Kickz Stand, returns to Coburg Town Hall Burn City! Let’s explore it!

Melbournians and Sneaker enthusiasts from different states definitely showed up for this event! There’s a lot of variety at the stalls this year!

Sole Emporium consistently delivers with the hottest selections. Angel Grove Collectables offers an awesome array of toys! Speaking of toys, Saint Side showcased a fine selection of Bear Bricks and sneakers! and Indomie kept the heat up with their spicy giveaways.

We met our online sneaker friends in person and reconnected with old mates! It was also great to see the next generation of sneaker enthusiasts! Additionally, there were plenty of free giveaways at The Kickz Stand booth and numerous happy winners through the $1 raffles. 

Let’s check out some of the notable kicks on sale! OG Black Cement Supreme SBs, OG Kanye Bape’s, MSCHF Astro Boots, and much more! Many peeps  walked away with some amazing steals too!

This event though wouldn’t be complete without the heats on feet! The ASICS Gel NYC Gang represented. Mismatched Grinch Kobe Protro’s! And ofcourse, Jordan heaters from my favourite content creators!

The anonymous mood board HIDDEN have joined forces once again with ASICS for an exciting global collaboration with the GEL-NYC™. This marks the first time ASICS and HIDDEN have used the GEL-NYC™ silhouette, with the two brands partnering as recently as December 2023 using the GT-2160™ silhouette.

“The inspiration for this HIDDEN x ASICS GEL-NYC™ sneaker lies within the digital landscape and was designed and built to attract the admiration of designers around the world.,” said HIDDEN. “This new model is not a designer shoe, but rather a shoe for designers everywhere.”

The sneakers upper construction implements a light grey base that’s offset with reflective details and HIDDEN’s electric green hues for contrast. Various elements throughout the upper reference the design language of a designer’s repertoire of digital tools. These features are meant to deconstruct the boundary between reality and on-screen visuals.

The midsole contrasts the upper’s retro influences by using the GEL-CUMULUS™ 16 shoe’s tooling system. Through a combination of lightweight foams and GEL™ technology inserts, this midsole formation helps create advanced underfoot comfort.

The HIDDEN x ASICS GEL-NYC™ sneaker was first unveiled at a secret in-store pop-up in the US on the 23rd of March. Global release will be on the 12th of April.

In Australia, the HIDDEN x ASICS GEL-NYC™ sneakers will retail for $250. Will be available via the ASICS EQL platform and at these Australian retailers: Above the Clouds, Finesse, Highs and Lows, Laced, Up There and USG.

These are the 361° Big 3 Future in the ‘Pink’ Colorway used by the MVP during the 2023-2024 NBA ALL STAR GAME.

These sneakers impress with their incredible lightness, achieved through super-light, breathable, and durable mesh uppers, courtesy of 361° C!LK Carbon Fiber technology and synthetic frames. The Morphit Tech in the forefoot and midfoot ensures a secure lockdown.

Fork-like eyelets on the forefoot, paired with the Morphit shroud, secure the front of the foot, while midfoot tensile wires act like seatbelts. A thickly padded heel counter contains the heel and ankles, enhancing lockdown and eliminating slippage and dead space, providing a seamless connection between foot and shoe.

A notable feature is the midsole construction. Quick CQTech foam on the forefoot ensures quick responsiveness, while Quick Flame CQT on the heel provides superior cushioning upon landing. Sandwiched between them is the carbon fiber Soar Plate, which creates a supportive, low-to-the-ground feel for excellent court feel and explosive movements. The RB rubber outsole with a unique circuit-like traction pattern ensures exceptional grip on all court surfaces.
