ASICS and HAL STUDIOS® are keeping the creative vibe going with their latest project: the reimagined GEL-KAYANO™ 20. This modern take on the stability trainer first hit the scene in 2013 and is all about blending futuristic style with comfy, everyday wear.
Inspired by the Space Age, this new version takes cues from the sleek lines and innovative materials of the 1950s and 60s, like moulded plastics and fiberglass. Those bold, forward-thinking designs really pushed the limits back then, and HAL STUDIOS® is capturing that spirit to create something that’s both visually striking and super functional.
One of the coolest updates of the HAL STUDIOS® x ASICS GEL-KAYANO™ 20 is the new upper, which ditches the original lacing system in favour of three hook-and-loop strap closures. This fresh design was inspired by some archival finds during a visit to the ASICS headquarters in Kobe, Japan. The upper features breathable mesh and textured leather overlays, and those strap closures add a modern touch while making the sneaker easy to wear.
Even though it’s been reimagined as a lifestyle sneaker, the GEL-KAYANO™ 20 still keeps the features that made it popular in the first place. The TRUSSTIC™ support system is still there to give you great stability, and ASICS‘ signature GEL™ technology in the midsole ensures you get top-notch shock absorption and all-day comfort.
