ASICS GEL-LYTE™ III CM 1.95

ASICS has announced that they are launching the new GEL-LYTE™ III CM 1.95 sneaker. Emitting just 1.95kg CO2e across its life cycle, significantly lighter than the lowest CO2e sneakers currently available on the market, it represents a significant leap forward by ASICS in its commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

The GEL-LYTE™ III CM 1.95 is the result of over 10 years of research and development by ASICS, beginning when ASICS first partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) back in 2010 to find a better way to accurately measure the CO2e impact across the entire life cycle of a product.

In continuing to finetune its research and reapply the findings, ASICS has been able to make hundreds of incremental gains across the four key stages of the product life cycle (Materials & Manufacturing, Transportation, Use and End-of-life), identifying all the small differences that combine to make a big impact. The result is the GEL-LYTE™ III CM 1.95 – achieving new levels of sustainability without compromising on quality.

Among the sneaker’s series of innovations is a new carbon negative foam, which features as part of its midsole and sock liner. Made from a fusion of bio-based polymers3 derived partly from sugarcane, these combine to deliver high-level comfort and quality in a sustainable way.

Other key design details in the shoe include the use of recycled and solution dyed polyester in the main upper material and the sock liner mesh, reflecting ASICS’ target of sourcing 100% of its polyester from recycled sources by 2030. The shoe features a new structure utilizing tape that enables less material usage, and 100% renewable energy used throughout the manufacturing phase.

The result of all these innovations and changes coming together is the GEL-LYTE™ III CM 1.95. The ground-breaking new sneaker is a milestone in ASICS’ long-term ambition of achieving net-zero emissions as a business by 2050, helping conserve the ability of future generations to continue experiencing the uplifting power of sport on the mind.

The ASICS GEL-LYTE™ III CM 1.95 sneaker will be widely available to buy instore and online at asics.com from 2023. It’s More Than Just Sneakers Brisbane 2022 Recap

0

After the great success of our Brisbane event back in May, we knew we needed to return back to run another It’s More Than Just Sneakers event, sooner rather than later. And hence, we did this on the 10th of September.

It was great to see once again the South East Queensland community come out to support this event. We had a great amount of vendors with great heat on the tables and heat on feet!

Our good friends from Monster Energy was also there getting patrons to try out the sport of Cornhole – where you toss bean bags/sack at length to a hole on a raise board.

Once again, we thank everyone for coming out and supporting this leg of the 2022 event tour. Our next event is this weekend, Saturday the 1st of October in our home town in Sydney. For more information for the Sydney event and the other event locations and stop, check out our event link – thekickzstand.com.au/imtjs

Super Mario Bros. Movie Trailer

0

During today’s Nintendo Direct event, Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animation adapatation. The teaser give viewers a first look at the animation style but very little in terms of the movies plot. The biggest reveal out of this teaser trailer is the voice of Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) voice as Mario which does sound similar to the voice used in The Super Mario Bros. Super show.

During the Direct, Illumination revealed that Animation is set to conclude next week, so it seems that the movie is pretty far along at this point! Illumination’s Super Mario Bros. movie is not the first time the video game icon has appeared on the big screen. A live-action Mario movie released in theaters back in 1993, with Mario and Luigi played by Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, respectively, and Dennis Hopper as Bowser. While the movie has obtained something of a cult following over the last 29 years, it was a box office bomb. The movie had very little in common with the actual source material, and Nintendo has avoided theatrical adaptations ever since.

It remains to be seen whether Illumination’s film will succeed where the previous Mario movie failed, but Nintendo is being a lot more hands-on this time, and the first teaser certainly looks promising. We’ll likely see a lot more of the film over the next few months, but The Super Mario Bros. Movie will release in theaters on April 7th.

Super Mario Bros.

Overall, this teaser has gotten us excited. It looks incredible, but we will need to see a bit more in the next trailer before we really confirm this excitement.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer

0

The first official trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 has officially arrived at D23 Expo. Production on The Mandalorian‘s third season reportedly began in September 2021, continuing the adventures of Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin. Season 2 concluded in December 2020, and has produced a number of spinoffs, such as The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. As the first original Star Wars series to premiere on Disney+, The Mandalorian has led the way for the Star Wars franchise on the small screen spearheaded by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Plus, Star Wars Celebration delivered the news that The Mandalorian Season 3 arrives in February 2023.

Season 2 ended with a young Luke Skywalker rescuing Mando and Grogu/Baby Yoda from Moff Gideon. Mando spent the first two seasons trying to reunite Grogu with the Jedi Order. He was able to connect with Dawson’s Ahsoka, but she had her own mission to attend to, which will be explored in a spinoff series on Disney+. Mando, Ahsoka, and Luke Skywalker also guest-starred in The Book of Boba Fett, where Grogu was given the option of either becoming Luke’s first student at his new Jedi Temple, or reuniting with the Mandalorian. Grogu ended up choosing Mando, and they helped Boba Fett defend his territory from the Pyke Syndicate.

With Din Djarin having obtained the Darksaber, he now has what Bo-Katan Kryze needs to be the leader of Mandalorians. A trailer shown at Star Wars Celebration built on their brewing rivalry, having Din Djarin speak to Bo-Katan about returning to Mandalore to absolve his transgressions, such as taking off his mask. However, Season 2 saw Bo-Katan expressing her desire to duel Din as a means to obtain the Darbsaber through combat.

The cast of Captain America: New World Order includes Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Tim Blake Nelson returning as The Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Shira Haas making her MCU debut as Israeli superhero Sabra, and Danny Ramirez, who will take on the superhero role of Falcon.

The Kickz Stand’s Hit List #49

It might sound obvious but I cop what I like!

OG’s, hype, GR’s, designer… my collection, is mainly Jordans but, lately I have been branching out to other brands and copping anything that catches my eye.

As stated above, lately I wanted to explore other brands. To be honest in the last few years more and more photos were popping up on my IG feed from my friends and Asics was one of the sneakers that sparked in me the curiosity of discovering these (new to me) brands. Especially the GL lll with that unique shape, amazing colorways and incredible materials.
In not even 2 weeks, I copped several pairs and eventually stumbled across the Asics x Sneaker Politics collab. I was amazed buy the colorway and the attention for details.

I needed them in the Vault!!!

With the shot, I tried to create something cool and unique to celebrate this great pair. Thanks to the Army inspired theme, I thought my camo Bape hoodie would have been the perfect match!!!

TITAN x Nike LeBron 19 Low ‘Beyond the Seas’

0

With its third collaboration ‘Beyond the Seas’ with LeBron James and Nike Basketball, TITAN celebrates the Filipino culture’s unique, incredible passion for basketball.

The name ‘Beyond the Seas’ draws inspiration from a significant Filipino mythical creature, Ultramar, whose name translates to ‘over the seas’ – a nod to the Spanish crown’s influence and authority despite being far across the seas. It is a half-lion, half-dolphin figure, which first appeared on the old City of Manila’s original coat-of-arms, and has become ever-present, appearing on city flags, corporate logos, government seals, and even the Legion of Honour medal. Although its meaning has evolved over the centuries, it still plays an important role in the Philippines’ heritage and culture.

Dressed in royal white with gold accents, the TITAN x Nike LeBron 19 Low ‘Beyond the Seas’ represents a love for the game so ingrained and fundamental to Filipinos that they sometimes overlook its special nature. From sold-out arenas to high school gyms, to rundown courts and unsung street corners, the spirit of the game is the same across the
islands.

While the love burns deep within their shores, the same passion is shared by so many around the world, including The King himself. From his many visits to the Philippines, LeBron’s appreciation of the Filipino love for basketball is widely recognized and two of his quotes are inscribed on each forefoot of the shoe. On one side, it reads “The passion for basketball in the Philippines is incredible.” On the other, “I look forward to returning to Manila again.” LeBron’s influence and impact over the years spans generations, across continents and beyond the seas.

From LeBron James and Nike Basketball in partnership with TITAN, the Nike LeBron 19 Low “Beyond The Seas” is a tribute to the universal love for basketball that is uniquely shared by so many around the world; a passion for the game that can only be described as ‘incredible.’

The TITAN x Nike LeBron 19 Low ‘Beyond the Seas’ will be available in all TITAN stores, TITAN22.COM & The TITAN App on the 4th of September, and in select accounts around the world including SNKRS and The NBA Store Philippines on the 8th of September 2022.

Apple Event Recap – iPhone 14, Apple Watch 8, new AirPods Pro & More

0

Another year, another iPhone. But will this one make anyone with a fairly newer model want to upgrade?

The Apple event brought in some fresh new products during their 90 minute presentation including the new iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Pro models, the new Apple Watch 8 as well as 2 other additions to the watch lineup along with the AirPods Pro 2. The new iPhones and Apple Watches have a crash detection feature, for example, and your iPhone will be able to send emergency messages via satellite connectivity.

Here is a closer look at everything Apple announced at its September 7 Far Out event

iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 isn’t a big leap from the iPhone 13, and that includes the new phone’s $799 (AU$1,399) price tag. It runs on an A15 system-on-chip as before, but Apple has turned to a 5-core GPU for improved performance over last year’s phone. While the main camera is still 12MP, there’s a bigger sensor for improved low-light photos.

iPhone 14

iPhone 14 Plus

Think of the iPhone 14 Plus as a larger version of the iPhone 14 (or a cheaper, not-as-fully-featured version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max). It’s got a 6.7-inch screen and a bigger battery than the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, but otherwise, features are the same.

iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max

Easily the biggest surprise of the day is the fact that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max aren’t getting the rumored $100 price increase. Instead, they’ll cost $999 (AU$1,749) and $1,099 (AU$1,899), respectively. That’s very impressive, considering the 4-nanometer A16 Bionic chipset that powers both phones and significant camera improvements, including a 48MP main shooter. The notch is gone, too, replaced by a cutout named Dynamic Island that incorporates animations and notifications.

iPhone 14 Pro

Apple Watch 8

Evolution not revolution is truly the aim with this watch, which starts at $399 (AU$649) for the GPS-only version. Big changes include a new temperature sensor, geared toward helping women with reproductive planning, and a low-power mode that doubles the battery life.

Apple Watch 8

Apple Watch SE (2022)

Apple seems to be following the iPhone SE’s naming structure by slapping a year rather than a number at the end of its less expensive entry-level device. The latest Apple Watch SE gets the crash detection and low-battery mode features found in the Apple Watch 8; its starting price also drops to $249 (AU$399).

Apple Watch Ultra

Apple is opting for a different name than the rumored Apple Watch 8 Pro moniker that had been suggested for its rugged smartwatch. But the other expected features are in place, from a 49mm size to twice the baseline battery life. Apple is promising more precise GPS tracking as well. Apple Watch Ultra starts at $799 (AU$1,299).

Apple Watch Ultra

AirPods Pro 2

The $249 (AU$399) wireless earbuds get a new H2 chip along with a low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier for improved sound. You’ll be able to use the front camera on your iPhone to create a customized spatial audio profile, while other features like active noise cancellation have been improved. Battery life is now 6 hours of playback.

Airpods Pro 2
