KangaROOS unveils the third collaborative silhouette as part of its ‘Traditions Pack.’ After ‘Denim‘ and ‘Kord,’ ‘Tweed‘ now joins the collection. Based on the high-end KangaROOS Coil R2 model, this sneaker was designed with the Harris Tweed Authority.
The Harris Tweed Act created the Harris Tweed Authority in 1993, which is an independent statutory public body. It replaced the Harris Tweed Association founded in 1909. The role of the Authority is to protect and promote the Harris Tweed® brand worldwide, its authenticity, standard and world-renowned reputation.
By law, Harris Tweed fabric must be: “Handwoven by the islanders in their own homes in the Outer Hebrides, finished in the Outer Hebrides and made from pure new wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides (the Isles of Lewis, Harris, Uist and Barra).“
Because they share the same values and love for the same beautiful materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail, KangaROOS and the Harris Tweed Authority naturally partnered to develop a collaborative Coil R2. And of course, the renowned premium sneaker factory Hummel und Hummel in Germany will manufacture them.
This Made in Germany sneaker is a combination of tweed and suede. It features a green, brown, beige, and grey colour palette. The base, in two shades of green tweed, complements the honey-brown suede overlays at the front. Beige with touches of pearl grey are on the back. To symbolise the collab, the hammer and chisel logo is embroidered in lime green on the heel. The tongue tag also features the co-branding. The sneaker sits on a white midsole with DYNACOIL cushioning and a gumsole.
The Harris Tweed Authority x KangaROOS Coil R2 ‘Tweed,’ which is part of the ‘Traditions Pack,’ will be on sale on the 4th of December online at KangaROOS and at the following selected retailers : 43einhalb / Acribik / AFEW / Allike / Alte Schule / Asphaltgold / Bijsmaak / Chmielna 20 / Egotrips / Footshop / Gloryhole / Hanon / HHV / Lace Up / Mainsource / Outback / Overkill / Schrittmacher / SneakAvenue / Sneakerbaas / Sneakerstudio / Steffl 6th Floor / Street / Suppa.

Rather than doing our usual sneaker review for these bad boys, we’ll let these amazing and talented Aussie sneaker enthusiasts tell us how they exactly feel about the Footlocker Exclusive: Under Armour HOVR Phantom 2 IntelliKnit.
The build quality on the Under Armour HOVR Phantom 2 IntelliKnit is second to none. Great lifestyle and performance sneaker, most importantly it’s so damn comfy in my opinion.
The UA HOVR Phantom 2’s are perfect for people who live an active lifestyle, short to medium runs, and for everyday wear. I was looking for lightweight comfortable running shoes suitable for spending lots of time on the go, and these tick all the boxes. The Danger pack is exclusive to Footlocker and on top of this it’s an awesome looking shoe. The HOVR sole provides great foot support and cushioning underfoot. The Intelliknit upper is stretchy, breathable, and is super easy to slide on and off. I’d highly recommend this pair for your next pair of running shoes!
The Under Armour HOVR Phantom 2 – has been one of the best experiences for my foot! As soon as I slid this bad boys on I was in amazed of how supportive intelliknit upper was and the feeling of HOVR under foot — the more I wore the sneaker the better it felt on foot. These are going to be a go to kick for any time I know I need to spend a long time in my feet but still want to keep a fresh and head turning sneaker on foot.
Not only is it a performance sneaker, it’s also lifestyle kicks. With responsive cushioning and breathable IntelliKnit upper, I’ll rock this in the gym and on the streets because it feels and looks amazing.
The Under Armour HOVR Phantom 2 IntelliKnit are so comfortable, I use them for running and gym. It’s so amazing! The colour way and material is so dope well!
The Under Armour HOVR Phantom 2’s have been my daily shoe for the past few weeks now. I’ve found the midsole has a great balance of cushion and stability. The IntelliKnit upper gives a snug sock like fit while maintaining breathability. So rocking these for 8 plus hours a day has been a breeze. Plus it’s an easy choice when that black and red colourway just hits!
I’ve been a huge fan of the HOVR cushioning tech since the first series of the Under Armour Phantom. Under Armour has found a way to give us the right amount of stability and responsiveness in a performance sneaker. The IntelliKnit uppers after some time feels like you are wearing nothing. Also, this particular Footlocker exclusive colourway is in my opinion is the best one yet. It’s dope enough to transition from a training shoe to a lifestyle kicks.
KangaROOS has teamed up with Brisbane Moss for their first collaboration to create the brand new Racer Hybrid ‘Kord’ sneaker. Brisbane Moss is a premium English apparel company using only the best high-end fabrics. Both KangaROOS and Brisbane Moss share a passion for high quality materials and fabrics using the best production methods which are focused on sustainability. Using corduroy, this collaboration highlights this distinctive fabric on the Racer Hybrid silhouette, making another incomparable sneaker.
Just a quick run down of Brisbane Moss. The brand was founded in the middle of the 19th century in Lancashire. Professional weavers and processors of corduroy and moleskin, these British artisans were a benchmark for high-end fabrics. Today, the company remains true to its values and places great emphasis on sustainable production. All Brisbane Moss fabrics comply with the Oeko-Tex 100 standard, which ensures legal compliance of textile products produced without harmful substances.

“How do you tell someone that you’re Spider-Man? Now everyone knows!” Thanks to Mysterio at the end of Far From Home, the world knows who Spider-man is and he wants to make people forget that he is.
Unmasked and unable to separate his normal life from his responsibilities as a superhero, Peter asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to make the world forget he’s Spider-Man. When the sorcerer casts a dangerous spell that tampers with the stability of spacetime — and the Multiverse — Strange warns: “Be careful what you wish for, Parker.”
The third film in the trilogy from Sony Pictures and co-producers Marvel Studios, No Way Home takes a swing through the Spider-Verse when Multiversal villains vanquished by the Spider-Men of other universes (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the stakes higher and more dangerous than ever before, Spider-Man will face sinister supervillains Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), Lizard (Rhys Ifans), and the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe).
The second trailer to Spider-Man: No WayHome has arrived, and fans simply can’t get enough. The extended clip features the return of characters like Green Goblin and Electro—and it even shows off some of Spidey’s new suits. With Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) serving as a supporting character in the film, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is gifted an “Integrated Suit,” one that looks like the Iron Spider suit he’s worn since Avengers: Infinity War. One major change, however, is that it apparently has some of Strange’s magic embedded in it somehow.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 16th here in Australia, so only 1 more month of waiting spidey fans!

Finally we have the first look at the upcoming Halo TV series thanks to Paramount+. In case you missed it, it was previously announced that the upcoming Halo TV series would air not air on Showtime as originally plan, but Paramount+. While this first teaser doesnt give alot away, it gives us a look at the iconic Halo hero, Master Chief which is being played by Pablo Schreiber (Den of Thieves, Orange Is The New Black, 13 Hours)
The Halo series has been in development for quite sometime with casting decisions announced back when it was planned for Showtime, so Halo fans will be happy to finally see something from the series itself.
Prior to this teaser, people looking for more from the Halo series have had to be satisfied with the occasional teaser or a glimpse of some of the most recognizable characters and their outfits. Those previews included the reveal of a couple of different images showing off Cortana and weapons as well as a look at part of Master Chief’s helmet. With the first teaser trailer now revealed, we’ll hopefully see more of these teasers moving forward until the series releases.
Other casting that has been announced is Jen Taylor (who has played this role before) as Cortana, Natasha McElhone (The Truman Show, Ronin) as Dr Catherine Halsey, Bokeem Woodbine (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Fargo) as Soren-066, Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Happy Valley) as Makee.
The developer of the current and future Halo video games including Halo Infinite is also assisting with production of the series as its now in post production so fans can rest assured its in the right hands to keep true to the gaming series.
The Halo TV Series will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in 2022 (no date confirmed as of yet). What do you think about this little teaser? Are you excited for it? Let us know what you think
1. How did you come-up with the idea for this dope shot?
Evolve Skate Store ran a Halloween photo completion for the chance to purchase a pair of Mummy SB Dunks. The rules stated that we had to carve a pumpkin and use it as the centrepiece for the photo entry. As a Nike store manager, I knew that I needed to carve a swoosh as the mouth of the jack-o’-lantern and use some pairs of Nike’s for the background. The rest was winging it and post photo editing.
2. How would you describe your collection?
My collection is pretty eclectic. I collect Nike, Yeezy and Jordan 1 to 5s.
I am a huge Jordan 1 High fan, which I have around 30 pairs of.
3. What’s your current favourite pickup?
After decades of collecting, I finally acquired a pair of 2016 Jordan 1 Breds in pristine condition. These were a must-have for my collection.
Ox Street is the brand-spanking new sneaker and streetwear buying and selling platform based in Singapore. It has just recently expanded and offered it’s services to Australia.
We took this (ahem!) ‘research’ as the perfect excuse to cop new kicks and break down to you guys how our buying experience went.
The Ox Street platform can be easily accessed via the Apple App Store and Google Play. Alternatively, it also can be viewed and safely accessed through your favourite browser.
Availability: 10/10
Sign-up is straightforward and secure. The site offers a 2-factor authentication for your new account. Navigating and searching for the streetwear you’re after is a breeze using the search bar. Even though, there are promotions, they do not detract from the clean interface of the pages.
Navigation: 9/10
Before we hit the ‘pay it now’ button, we were presented a final check-out list for the price of kicks and shipping. We were charged $37 AUD. In our experience with other buying and selling platform services, the ‘hidden fees’ would only appear once our card has been debited. We were actually prepared ourselves for this. We were pleasantly surprised that the total amount presented to us during checkout was the exact same when our card was debited.
Shipping/Fees: 10/10
If we were to nitpick about the whole online experience with Ox Street this would be it. You would be hard-pressed to find kicks and streetwear that were previously released 5 years or more ago. However, their sneakers and streetwear catalogue from 2-3 years ago and onwards is quite impressive and updated. From toddler sizes, bae sizes and sz 17 big-footer they have us covered.
Variety of Collection: 7/10
Perhaps one of our most important concerns as a sneaker enthusiast. The prices of the merchs here are either cheaper or comparable to other sneaker selling platforms based in North America. Price of the kicks you want is too high?!? Ox Street also gives us the option to make offers to sellers. We also have the option to open a selling account.
PRICE: 9/10
They have a support chat box on the bottom right of the app and web page where we can direct our questions. When we first used the app downloaded via google we experienced some lagginess. At first we thought these were just normal baby-step glitches but we kinda felt this would be a good time to see if anyone would actually respond to our queries via the support chatbox. To our surprise, someone did respond within minutes via email. We were told they were doing a routine check-up on their servers and everything would be running smoothly in a couple of minutes. Which it actually did!
They will also provide us updates via app and emails regarding the status of our orders with every step that happens, down to the day when your order actually gets delivered to your place.
Speaking of status, our updates indicated our package got held-up for a couple of days at the Singapore Airport. And just like any other sneakerhead fiend, our hearts went racing and we were already thinking of the worse case scenario.
“Our kicks have been tampered with or were deemed suspicious!”
“We’re never gonna get em now!”
Again, we had another perfect excuse to hit up the chat support box and once again we were responded to within minutes. We were rest-assured it was a form of covid SOP and true enough after 2 days our package was off to Melbourne.
Customer Service: 10/10
Once the seller ships to their main office. Our sneaker underwent a rigorous and meticulous verification process by one of their certified agents. We received a signed verification checklist card inside the sneaker box. Both kicks were tagged with Ox Street’s seal of Authenticity.
Obviously, this isn’t our first rodeo ordering sneakers online. Not that we doubted Ox Street’s verification process, but at this day and age where fakes are getting better and better, well we had to do our own homework.
Once we got our kicks, we immediately compared it to the same kicks that were purchased locally. The we compared them to fake vs legit online videos and finally ran it through a couple of legit check apps.
Our kicks obviously passed with flying colors!
By the way, cutting the the seal of authenticity cord means you are happy with your purchase. It also means you have voided any claims you wish to make if you are dissatisfied with your order. I cannot stress this enough. Do your homework and thoroughly inspect your kicks before you cut that cord!!!
Authenticity: 10/10
As with most overseas purchase and the global covid situation, we were prepared to receive our order in a month’s time. But to our surprise, we got our package in 9 DAYS!!! We were thoroughly IMPRESSED!!! That was significantly faster than some of our local online orders these days! DHL is the courier they used.
Turnaround: 10/10
As of this writing, they have $20 SGD/$20 AUD OFF your first purchase. Which of course we happily took advantage of to offset the total cost of our ordered kicks. They’ll also provide 20 OX CREDITS ($20AUD) for every successful referral you make. You can save up these OX CREDITS to purchase any item in their platform.
Throughout the year they have launched some amazing raffles and giveaways. Make sure you stay updated by following their IG account here. They also have some very up to date articles about upcoming releases and the latest news on street culture trends.
As a long time sneaker enthusiast, I am beyond ecstatic that another reputable online sneaker based selling platform has opened its services to us here DOWN UNDER. More options means more choices for us. We don’t have to rely anymore on just one source for our coveted merchs.
Although in most occasions we’ll be paying a premium above retail, I am more than happy to pay for those “fees” if it means: I don’t have to do dodgy meetups.
I’ll have peace of mind because my kicks are legit.
I can order from the safety and convenience of my home (or from anywhere for that matter).
I don’t have to camp-out or line-up for kicks. But most importantly, I’ll have more time to spend with my family and do the things I like (this article for example! LOL).
We highly recommend you guys check-out and consider OX STREET for your next cop!
Overall: 9.4/10

KangaROOS has teamed up with Ruttloff Jeans for their first collaboration to create the brand new Ultralite ‘Denim’ sneaker. Ruttloff Jeans is a premium apparel company using only the best denim. This collaboration spotlights this versatile fabric on the Ultralite silhouette, making a truly unique shoe.
Johann Ruttloff has been manufacturing jeans and shirts from the highest quality Japanese selvedge denim since 2010 (ruttloff-jeans.com). This makes him one of the few pioneers of artisanal and sustainable jeans production in Germany. He had an early fascination for this resilient material, and the complex production method formed the basis of a desire, later becoming an urge, to found his own business.
Japanese denim has exceptionally high quality, and also combines a traditional, more ecological production method. This guarantees a particularly long service life, with fair payment for all those involved in the production process. KangaROOS shoe manufacturer Hummel & Hummel also uphold those values. This means that due to the limited availability of materials and labour, there’s no mass-production, so products are strictly limited.
This creates aesthetic products with a story, a noticeable culture, which is the polar opposite of the fast-fashion mentality that is prevalent across the board. KangaROOS’ collaboration projects and all the products that leave both factories are all about creating awareness. We believe that the production of purely disposable goods must end.
The material in this collaboration is mostly 10.1oz natural indigo, lightweight 3×1 denim from Kuroki (Japan, Okayama). The upper material of the Ultralite is a combination of denim and suede as well as embossed cowhide. The lining is also high quality denim.
The Ruttloff Jeans x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘Denim’ will be released on Saturday the 6th of November. Available at 43einhalb / Acribik / AFEW / Allike / Alte Schule / Asphaltgold / Bijsmaak / Egotrips / Footshop / Gloryhole / Hanon / HHV / Lace Up / Mainsource / Outback / Overkill / Schrittmacher / SneakAvenue / Sneakerbaas / Sneakerstudio / Steffl 6th Floor / Street / Suppa and via kangaroos.de/shop.

Could you share a bit about your secret origin story?
My secret origin story will have to remain a secret for the most part, but I’ll give you a little preview. I came to Australia at a young age and currently reside in the Western Sydney area. I came to love sneakers from an old friend from Church. He gave me a pair of Jordan 6 Sport Blues he copped from Footlocker. A little after I first saw him rock them and asked him a million questions, because I hadn’t seen Jordan’s on someone I knew then. I was into basketball from a young age and liked Jordan and Kobe so naturally I was into sneakers. I couldn’t afford sneakers like Jordans, so when he gave me that shoe it felt like I was given a bar of gold!!!
That fueled my passion for sneakers and later led me down the art of reselling when I couldn’t fit them, which in turn laid the foundations of my business mindset.
Hence this chapter in my life came from a pair of Jordan 6 Retro Sport blues.

What’s your current favourite pair of sneakers?
My favourite sneakers are definitely Jordans so if I had to choose my favourite pairs it would have to be the Jordan 1 Chicago’s and the Jordan 5 Retro Wings (IYKYK).
Photography by @jnywkz
What drew you to this particular pair of sneakers? What’s your personal sneaker collecting philosophy?
The Jordan 1 Chicago has always been that love at first site type of love and the sneaker that really got me into Jordan’s many years ago. The simplicity of the silhouette, the contrast of colours and the history speaks enough volume to why its my favourite. The Jordan 5 Wings come second place, because if you know the story behind the shoe and naming, then nothing else needs to be said. My personal sneaker collecting philosophy has always been stick to 3 shoes. I like to keep a variety of shoes for different situations (outdoors, formal, etc.), but when it comes to my sneakers, I’ve always had a 3 pair rule. Coming from a country where people struggle to have 1 pair of shoes, that always spoke volumes to me and humbled me to never excessively collect shoes. I like to switch up the rotation, rock 3 for summer then come winter sell those and rock another 3. Sometimes I’d buy Jays and not really feel them so I’d sell those and cop another, so I’d never have a shoe unworn. Each to their own on sneaker collecting, but me personally I’m good with my 3 rotations.

Could you tell us more about what inspired you to build Kickcycle?
That’s honestly a multi-layed question because for me Kickcycle is just a name.
In its physical presence, it is just a face to a product I sell. What inspired me to build Kickcycle was what that face represented, it represented what drew me to love sneakers in the first place. For me sneakers represented identity, community and expression which is all Kickcycle represents under the physical layer.
If you had a passion for sneakers before 2017, you’d know exactly what I’m talking about here. For those who don’t, I’d recommend listening to Macklemore’s song WINGS and to meditate on the deep the lyrics.
Kickcycle’s physical side is there to keep your sneakers fresh and cared for, while underneath it’s connecting the sneaker community and connecting it to streetball. Most of us grew up on streetball and for most of us it became our gateway to sneakers.
To answer the question what inspired me to build Kickcyle? I guess the (sneaker) game did. Just doing my part to revive a dead art.
Photography by @jnywkz
What are your plans for your company/brand in the future?
My plans would be like any business, which is to grow the brand to its highest physical level. The ultimate goal is difficult to answer because I don’t even know what that physically looks like. But for me the ultimate goal is for people to be able to go back to enjoying sneakers and what it represents. Whatever form that manifests itself into, would be my ultimate reasoning for starting the brand and doing what I do. If you know me, you know I don’t like to speak on what I’m going to do, but rather speak on what I’ve done. So check up in a years time and see where we at and let that speak for itself.

Any advice for the younger generation that might want to follow your footsteps?
My advice is: don’t follow in my footsteps, create your own. I got to where I am by trusting in my abilities and trusting in God who gave them. Best thing about sneakers, people may have the same sneakers but the way you rock them with your own twist is what will always make them unique, so keep that philosophy in life. My only advice which transcends past sneakers is: wear your kicks, don’t let them wear you and most importantly your words your rep, protect it.
