Foot Locker Australia has proven to it’s loyal sneaker community following that they are listening and always trying to keep things fair. They released an official statement of concern earlier today about how one of their Australian stores had unfairly facilitated a raffle for a major release this month.
Foot Locker Australia has expressed that they will be looking at changing the way they run their expression of interest raffles for validity and fairness.
We now just have to wait and see what they come up with. Watch this space!
To some people, ‘breakdancing’ might be thought of as past time or something younger kids participate in, but actually the Breakin’ community is still very alive, even in the local Sydney community with a wide array of people of all ages. Ryugi, organised by local bboy Hideboo, is an ongoing series of breakin’ events which aims to connect and help grow the Sydney scene. In the most recent event in the series, Ryugi has collaborated with internationally recognized Found Nation crew where the winner would have the opportunity to battle in Japan against some of the worlds best as a seeded guest battler.
Local Bboy Vinh Flow (NSW | Hybrid Formz , Vinhtage All Stars) vs International Guest Judge Ryo Spin (TOKYO, JAPAN | Found Nation Crew)
The event saw many dancers of all ages come through, with over 100 participants battling in the 1v1 Breakin’ battles and 1v1 Top Rock battles as well as the constant cyphers going on throughout the day. By the end of it all, Bboy O’Shan (QLD |RAW crew) took out the 1v1 Top Rock battles and Bboy Harry (NSW | Juse Crew, Hybrid Formz) taking the W in the 1v1 Breakin’ battles.
The Kickz Stand has been a proud partner and sponsor of the event, helping hook up the winner with fresh gear. Check below for some snaps of what went down and check out Ryugi 〜流儀〜 over on Facebook for more.
G-SHOCK Singapore has conceptualised and embarked on a new campaign titled “Future Legends” as part of the launch of the new metal-forged GM-6900 series that is based on the cultural icon, the DW-6900 watch. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of this definitively legendary watch model.

The “Future Legends” campaign is about the people of tomorrow. People who shape our future, people who are still hustling through their daily grind, regardless of gender, race, and age. They are the next chapter and if luck permits, will be immortalised in our books; making history as Legends in time to come.
This campaign celebrates these catalysts of change from the domains of hip hop music and high-street fashion, as a tribute to these spheres’ deep affiliation with the birth of the original DW-6900 in the 1990s.
As part of the campaign, established names in the music and fashion industries will work together with new talents—also known as future legends—to leave a positive mark in the history books.

“This shot was taken after I was inspired by another shooter that did something similar. I used it as way to show light through this darkness since the tragedy of the 9 that lost their lives. His legacy will live on and that’s what the white light represents.
This is my favourite pair of Kobe’s and finally got hold of them recently, the Kobe XI Elite Mid Black/Gum. I am a fan of bright and colourful sneakers but this pair for some reason drew me in. I love the snakeskin look, the gumsole of course and I really love the chrome accents.
I’m a Celtic fan so Kobe was my enemy. I never cheered for him until he played for USA but the man had the respect of Celtic Nation displayed no more clearly than when Bill Russell came into Staples in a Kobe jersey. The Mamba’s impact breaks through one of the biggest rivalries in all of sports. Rest easy Mamba….CelticNation misses you.”

Salomon officially launches its expedition into the Australian sneaker scene with a memorable Launch Party organized by The Compass Studio at the Top Paddock Cafe in Melbourne. The guest were treated with a first hand look at the different technical models offered by Salomon Advanced. It has been no secret that the demand for outdoor-inspired footwear has slowly consumed the appetite of the fashion conscious urban dwellers.
A T-shirt printing booth was also on deck. World-renowned, Adelaide based contemporary and street artist Matthew Fortrose provided the two amazing t-shirt designs.
The highlight of the night was of the course the live panel talk of some very esteemed speakers. They were headed by Sneaker Freaker Magazine founder Woody, street and fashion photographer Sam Wong and the record breaking Australian Triathlete Courtney Atkinson.

At least once a year, Samsung pulls hundreds of reporters, analysts and industry folk into one big room for an event it calls “Samsung Unpacked,” where the company shows off all of their latest flagship devices. The first Unpacked of 2020 was held this morning in San Francisco — and from $1,400 folding smartphones to handsets with cameras packing 100x zoom, it was a doozy.
Here is a quick run down of what happened earlier this morning
Galaxy Z Flip. That’s right, the flip phone bandwagon is back in full swing. The 2nd foldable smartphone from Samsung was announced first up. Unfolded, the screen comes in at 6.7 inches. Folded, a small exterior display allows for some lightweight functionality— things like notifications, battery life indicators and quick selfies. There’s also a sort of halfway unfolded, laptop-style mode (pictured above) that Samsung calls “Flex mode,” which they pitch as being particularly good for hands-free video calls.
Galaxy S20. When you hear S20, you start to think what happend to S12 through S19…well Samsung decided for 2020 to start right at 20 to mark the start of the new decade.
It’ll come in three variants: the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra — starting at $999, $1,199 and $1,399, respectively. Three phones, three display sizes: S20 comes in at 6.2″, S20+ at 6.7″ and S20 Ultra at 6.9″. All three displays run at 120hz, though you’ll have to drop the native Quad HD+ resolution down to 1080p for that. All three models support 5G. Like many smartphones launched recently, Samsung’s main focus here is the camera — and the specs here, at least on paper, are pretty mind-blowing.
The S20 has three cameras, the beefiest of which is a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. The S20+ and S20 Ultra bump it up to four cameras with the introduction of a depth sensor, and the S20 Ultra alone packs a rather wild 108-megapixel sensor on the wide angle lens. The camera specs vary quite a bit from model to model and it can all get pretty confusing, so here’s Samsung’s spec sheet breakdown for reference:
The S20 and S20+ will support up to 30x “Space” (digital) zoom; the S20 Ultra bumps it up to 100x. All three phones will also shoot 8K video. A feature Samsung calls “Single Take” allows you to take one short video and get multiple options to choose from in return — boomerangs, looping clips, AI-enhanced photos, etc.
Samsung and other retailers have opened their pre-orders as of 9am this morning with the release date due to be late Feb/early March. If you pre-order now, most of the major players are giving the new Galaxy Buds + with the phone.
