Under Armour are thrilled to reveal details of the limited-edition Patty Mills x UA Flow FUTR X3 basketball sneaker, the first product collaboration between Under Armour and four-time Olympian and NBA Champion Patty Mills.
The Patty Mills x UA Flow FUTR X3 basketball design acknowledges and celebrates generations of history and traditional knowledge of the natural world. Passed on by his family and Meriam Elders from Mer in the eastern Torres Strait of Australia, this design draws inspiration from Patty’s connection to the sea and relationship to his family’s totem, the Murray Island green turtle.
The resilience of the Murray Island green turtle has a significant meaning; migrating long distances between feeding grounds and the places where they hatched, this creature has inspired Patty’s family and his community for many generations.

The Under Armour FUTR X basketball shoe range has been a long-time staple for Patty on the court, and the design intentionally incorporates gold detailing, signifying the gold standard he holds himself to.

ASICS SportStyle announces the launch of the GEL-KAYANO™ LEGACY sneaker. This sneaker design celebrates the 30th anniversary of the GEL-KAYANO™ series and the technology advancements that propelled the series into what it is today.
Toshikazu Kayano started designing footwear at ASICS in the late 1980s before creating the GEL-KAYANO™ series in 1993. Since its inception, this trainer has been steeped in technologies that mirror a stag beetle’s armour-like characteristics. This philosophy continues to be a definitive trait that’s still prevalent for the stability running shoe 30 years later. Kayano-would go on to create the first 13 silhouettes within the series before passing the torch in 2008.
Toshikazu Kayano stated, “When I first started designing the GEL-KAYANO™ series for running, I never would’ve imagined that there would be 30 different models across a 30-year timeframe—let alone reach the sneaker space. It’s exciting how shoe designs that were originally intended for performance have developed a cross-over into various lifestyle realms.
The ASICS SportStyle design team revisited the series’ 30-year legacy and pulled inspiration from the milestones that evolved the shoe into one of the most storied stability trainers. This project began with the GEL-KAYANO™ 14 as the foundation and took key design influences from eight other iterations within the GEL-KAYANO™ series, including: the GEL-KAYANO™ TRAINER, GEL-KAYANO™ 5, GEL-KAYANO™ 6, GEL-KAYANO™ 10, GEL-KAYANO™ 12, GEL-KAYANO™ 18, and GEL-KAYANO™ 20 sneaker.
Each colourway in the collection draws influence from the core colours that have appeared throughout the GEL-KAYANO™ series since its inception. The first colourway features a primarily white base that’s offset with blue, red, and black undertones. Its asymmetric colouring helps to highlight the mashup effect and tech features that are conveyed through the different GEL-KAYANO™ components. The other colourway pays homage to the series’ frequent use of silver during the mid and late 2000s.

ASICS today announces the launch of the ACTIBREEZE™ Hybrid Sandal, developed to offer excellent comfort and relaxation before and after your run.
The design of the ACTIBREEZE™ Hybrid Sandal has been revamped from its predecessor to offer even better preparation from one performance to the next. It now features a 3D printed footbed, parametrically designed in an extra-thick lattice structure to provide advanced breathability and zoned comfort.

Last August 25th, we had the incredible privilege to cover the exclusive Footlocker launch of the ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 Chochin Pack at Footlocker QV Melbourne. Hosted by the innovative ON3 Studio, the event fused music, street culture, dance, and art. With a DJ, a chochin-inspired ASICS influencer booth, and refreshing drinks from Bobby Drinks, the atmosphere was electric.

After the huge success and selling out of both artist and museum editions of the art toys at sneakertopia, tobyato and ActionCity collaborate together once again to relaunch a “Triple White” colourway of the sneaker stone lions art toy. These will be extremely limited with only 88 available. Each will be numbered individually.
The colourway mimics the “triple white” colourway of many sneakers, aiming for a neutral and accessible collectible, which is an important part of tobyato’s body of work. This new colourway launches with a physical signing session on the 26th of August with an online release thereafter.
This also marks the first time that the Sneaker Stone Lion Art toys will be available outside of tobyato’s home country, accessible internationally, via ActionCity‘s online store.
THE STORY BEHIND THE DESIGN
In Asian culture, stone lions placed at the entrances of buildings usually serve as guardians, often welcoming guests as they arrive. The lions come in pairs, a male and female, representing balance and harmony.
Art served as a gateway for tobyato into sneakers and, by extension, broader street culture. Here, the tobyato presents his own remix of the classic stone lions, merging the bodies of the lions with sneaker parts such as shoelaces, shoe tongues and stitching.
These Sneaker Stone Lions serve as an embodiment of his “welcome” and entry into street culture that he’s grateful to experience as an Artist.
tobyato Sneaker Stone Lions – Debut at Sneakertopia Asia First debuting as life sized sculptures at the entrance of the Singapore edition of sneakertopia, held at the iconic Art Science Museum in Singapore, the Sneaker Stone Lions greeted and welcomed guests into the Sneaker exhibition space.
3 hand painted art toy variants with custom wooden box priced at S$1,500 was launched and sold out on the exhibition opening day, following which, a museum edition of 50 pieces, priced at S$400 subsequently sold out at the end of the sneakertopia exhibition.

I just love runners in general as well as old school aesthetics – and New Balance is the perfect representation of that, at the moment New Balance is just at the forefront pumping out all these cool releases. They’ve always been around though, so don’t get that twisted. Also, my instagram name is “oldmansneaks,” I’m just an old man loving me some old man kicks!
Runners is a bit trendy at the moment, especially the y2k ones, I honestly don’t know whether this trend will stick, I do agree with what Ronnie Fieg said on a podcast, that the reason this is happening is that the time is starting to catch up on the runner aesthetics. Also add in the fact the people are starving for something new in the culture which resulted in this movement on the runner and y2k vibes.
