We caught up with everyone’s favourite sneaker lensman, and asked him to share with us a few of his best-loved sneakers in his current rotation and some topics very close to his heart.

He is well known for his legit collection of heaters captured in crisp and clean images.

Apart from being one of the most talented sneakerazzi in the whole of IGverse and the owner of one of the most awesome and diverse collection of kicks, he is an incredible down to earth human being and an amazing father and husband.

Without further ado, allow me to present to you in his own words and canvass:

Hi everyone! I am Jez from Sydney, a full time father, husband and part-time sneaker collector. I’ve been collecting for more then 10 years on and off. I’ve been fortunate and lucky enough to have a wife who is into sneakers as much as I am, so sneaking in sneakers on the low to the house is not needed. I don’t think I have one style, I’d like to think my collection is diverse from Jays to runners and back to an assortment of basketball kicks.

Shots that define me are group family shots.

Family is everything to me, so when I can get the chance to match and get the whole squad involved and share my passion with them, I’ll grab every single opportunity.

While growing up everyone’s GOAT was MJ, mine was Penny.

This pair here is what started it for me. My first pair growing up. My fave player growing up and the reason I still go for the Orlando Magic till this day.

This silhouette was ahead of its time.

A pair that needs no introduction, a pair that had me at “hello” from the release date.

This was a auto cop for the whole fam. Easily made it in my top 5 last year. Sean Wotherspoon definitely smashed this out of the park. Hybrid tick, quality tick and colorway tick. I can see this pair age better overtime with each wear, well that’s what I can see with my son’s pair since it been through hell and back.

My motto is: “If I shine my whole fam shines!”
So this was a no brainer for me. When I got the chance to create a toddler version for my lil man with the help of @carmeno_customs I was sold.

This pair was also the first and last time me and the wifey ever won a raffle on endclothing. For me, a mash up of 12 grails into one sneaker is epic!!!

Rush Hour 4?

Could Rush Hour 4 be on the cards? From what we have seen earlier today, it appears Chris Tucker has posted on his instagram hinting that after years of rumors flying around that Rush Hour 4 would be made, it in fact looks like it will be.

In the photo posted below it shows both Chris Tucker and his co-star Jackie Chan holding up 4 in a photo together which could lead to an official announcement in the coming days of Rush Hour 4 being made.

It’s been 12 years since the duo teamed up with Rush Hour 3 coming out in 2007 and it was a bit of a bomb at the box office which only brought in $258 million on a budget of $140 million.

What are your thoughts on this? Will this be good or has the franchise ran its course?

Adidas Sign Beyoncé as a Creative Partner

Adidas have announced a partnership with Beyoncé and her 3 year old brand Ivy Park.

Beyoncé will sign on as a creative partner with Adidas and re launch her Ivy Park brand, and is set to launch a signature shoe and apparel.

Beyoncé says “This is the partnership of a lifetime for me. Adidas has ha tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. i look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.

There is no current word on when the products might launch but we are sure there will be a hype surrounding what the mega star releases when the time comes.

JD Sports Macarthur Square Grand Opening

South Western Sydney Sneakerheads rejoice!!! We now have our own JD Sports in our backyard. JD Sports opened up its 8th Sydney store today at Macarthur Square in Campbelltown, NSW.

Now this store may not be as big as some of the other ones around Sydney but be assured they are planning on getting the releases like all the other stores.

Splendour in the Grass 2019

Splendour in the Grass event this year will be on the 19th to 21st of July 2019 at the North Byron Parklands. The line up has been announced and it’s gonna be a massive one.

With big celebrities such as Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, SZA and so many more.

The Kickz Stand’s very own KLASIK will be dropping it down on the 1’s and 2’s as a billed artist in this huge line up.

Tickets go on sale next Thursday the 11th of April 2019 through Moshtix from 9AM AEST.

SEGA to Release the Mega Drive Mini

At Sega Fes 2019, Sega announced they will be releasing the Mega Drive Mini worldwide on September 19, 2019.

Sega gave details regarding the Japanese version of the Mega Drive Mini, saying that it will include a whopping 40 games.

Some games for the Japanese Mega Drive Mini include Sonic 2, Puyo Puyo 2, Shining Force, Castlevania Bloodlines, Powerball, Gunstar Heroes, Comix Zone, Rent-a-Hero, Space Harrier 2 as well as other Japanese only titles. Which will mean the American / European / Australian models will most likely receive a different lineup.

As well as the 40 games, Sega also mentioned they would be using the 6 button controllers as with the original Mega Drive and there will also be the ability to save a game from anywhere like what Nintendo and Sony have implemented with their Classic Consoles.

In Japan, they will be selling two versions of the Mega Drive Mini: The first will come with one controller for ¥6980 (approx $89), and the other with two controllers for ¥8980 (approx $114).

“Interesting story behind this sneaker. I was initially going to pass, but after spending many hours gazing upon IG shots, upon IG shots and the said sneaker passing my ‘cop test’ I decided to finally go for it.
I headed to UPthere to try my luck. I came pretty late and was resigned to missing out, but out of nowhere came a hail mary assist from non other than the Sneaker Freaker Don himself — Woody!

I ended up with a size 9, which I subsequently traded down for an 8.5 with one of the lads in the line. Long story short, met total strangers in the line-up, ended up with new set of mates that share the same passion for sneakers, beer and photography.

The composition was driven by my enjoyment of capturing shots of sneakers ‘above ground.’ I like the way it develops the depth of field and gives the shot a feeling of action. The shot also, is completely unedited.This was achieved using the Sony a7ii and their entry 1.8 50mm prime lens.”
