OG’s, hype, GR’s, designer… my collection, is mainly Jordans but, lately I have been branching out to other brands and copping anything that catches my eye.
As stated above, lately I wanted to explore other brands. To be honest in the last few years more and more photos were popping up on my IG feed from my friends and Asics was one of the sneakers that sparked in me the curiosity of discovering these (new to me) brands. Especially the GL lll with that unique shape, amazing colorways and incredible materials. In not even 2 weeks, I copped several pairs and eventually stumbled across the Asics x Sneaker Politics collab. I was amazed buy the colorway and the attention for details.
I needed them in the Vault!!!
With the shot, I tried to create something cool and unique to celebrate this great pair. Thanks to the Army inspired theme, I thought my camo Bape hoodie would have been the perfect match!!!
With its third collaboration ‘Beyond the Seas’ with LeBron James and Nike Basketball, TITAN celebrates the Filipino culture’s unique, incredible passion for basketball.
The name ‘Beyond the Seas’ draws inspiration from a significant Filipino mythical creature, Ultramar, whose name translates to ‘over the seas’ – a nod to the Spanish crown’s influence and authority despite being far across the seas. It is a half-lion, half-dolphin figure, which first appeared on the old City of Manila’s original coat-of-arms, and has become ever-present, appearing on city flags, corporate logos, government seals, and even the Legion of Honour medal. Although its meaning has evolved over the centuries, it still plays an important role in the Philippines’ heritage and culture.
Dressed in royal white with gold accents, the TITAN x Nike LeBron 19 Low ‘Beyond the Seas’ represents a love for the game so ingrained and fundamental to Filipinos that they sometimes overlook its special nature. From sold-out arenas to high school gyms, to rundown courts and unsung street corners, the spirit of the game is the same across the islands.
While the love burns deep within their shores, the same passion is shared by so many around the world, including The King himself. From his many visits to the Philippines, LeBron’s appreciation of the Filipino love for basketball is widely recognized and two of his quotes are inscribed on each forefoot of the shoe. On one side, it reads “The passion for basketball in the Philippines is incredible.” On the other, “I look forward to returning to Manila again.” LeBron’s influence and impact over the years spans generations, across continents and beyond the seas.
From LeBron James and Nike Basketball in partnership with TITAN, the Nike LeBron 19 Low “Beyond The Seas” is a tribute to the universal love for basketball that is uniquely shared by so many around the world; a passion for the game that can only be described as ‘incredible.’

The Apple event brought in some fresh new products during their 90 minute presentation including the new iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Pro models, the new Apple Watch 8 as well as 2 other additions to the watch lineup along with the AirPods Pro 2. The new iPhones and Apple Watches have a crash detection feature, for example, and your iPhone will be able to send emergency messages via satellite connectivity.
Here is a closer look at everything Apple announced at its September 7 Far Out event
iPhone 14
The iPhone 14 isn’t a big leap from the iPhone 13, and that includes the new phone’s $799 (AU$1,399) price tag. It runs on an A15 system-on-chip as before, but Apple has turned to a 5-core GPU for improved performance over last year’s phone. While the main camera is still 12MP, there’s a bigger sensor for improved low-light photos.
iPhone 14 Plus
Think of the iPhone 14 Plus as a larger version of the iPhone 14 (or a cheaper, not-as-fully-featured version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max). It’s got a 6.7-inch screen and a bigger battery than the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, but otherwise, features are the same.
iPhone 14 Pro & iPhone 14 Pro Max
Easily the biggest surprise of the day is the fact that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max aren’t getting the rumored $100 price increase. Instead, they’ll cost $999 (AU$1,749) and $1,099 (AU$1,899), respectively. That’s very impressive, considering the 4-nanometer A16 Bionic chipset that powers both phones and significant camera improvements, including a 48MP main shooter. The notch is gone, too, replaced by a cutout named Dynamic Island that incorporates animations and notifications.
Apple Watch 8
Evolution not revolution is truly the aim with this watch, which starts at $399 (AU$649) for the GPS-only version. Big changes include a new temperature sensor, geared toward helping women with reproductive planning, and a low-power mode that doubles the battery life.
Apple Watch SE (2022)
Apple seems to be following the iPhone SE’s naming structure by slapping a year rather than a number at the end of its less expensive entry-level device. The latest Apple Watch SE gets the crash detection and low-battery mode features found in the Apple Watch 8; its starting price also drops to $249 (AU$399).
Apple Watch Ultra
Apple is opting for a different name than the rumored Apple Watch 8 Pro moniker that had been suggested for its rugged smartwatch. But the other expected features are in place, from a 49mm size to twice the baseline battery life. Apple is promising more precise GPS tracking as well. Apple Watch Ultra starts at $799 (AU$1,299).
AirPods Pro 2
The $249 (AU$399) wireless earbuds get a new H2 chip along with a low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier for improved sound. You’ll be able to use the front camera on your iPhone to create a customized spatial audio profile, while other features like active noise cancellation have been improved. Battery life is now 6 hours of playback.

After two successful collaborations with adidas Originals; first in 2015 with the ZX Flux and Superstar pack, and second in 2017 with the Superstar Clean; Limited Edt has once again teamed up with adidas Originals with their third and final instalment of their batik-inspired floral pattern series. This time around Limited Edt work their magic on the Forum 84 silhouette and named this collaboration the ‘Singapore Forum’.
Limited Edt takes the Forum 84 Low, a ground-breaking retro basketball shoe from 1984 and manages to fuse the DNA of the original version and yet create something unique. Paying homage to the original white and blue colourway, the Singaporean boutique uses premium hairy suede upper and an off-white midsole to further give it a vintage retro feel. The floral batik pattern is subtlety applied to the inner lining, on the window on the strap and beneath a translucent outsole. Switch to an extra floral batik pattern lace for extra flair.
It’s all about the details from the embossed branding on the leather tongue’s to the gold foil branding of both adidas Originals and Limited Edt on the insole and lateral side of the shoe. A final unique feature, and rather aptly for sunny Singapore, is the white UV reactive uppers which will transform into a rich blue and reveal the floral batik pattern as soon as you step into the sunlight.
A stitched “1 of 300” is hidden under the strap and each pair comes with an individually numbered Singapore Forum collector card showcasing the rarity of this historic collaboration.
To further celebrate the collaboration and do its part for a worthy charitable cause, Limited Edt launches its first ever NFT (Non Fungible Token) called Vanda NFT on the 20th of August. Only 60 unique versions of the Vanda NFT will be made available. Each Vanda NFT is paired with Limited Edt’s Singapore Forum and will come in a special box set that includes a basketball, jersey and an exclusive Singapore Forum collectible trading card. This will be customer’s first chance to get the Singapore Forum.
Vanda is Singapore’s female superhero vigilante. A mythical folk hero to countless of young women. From her mastery in combat to ability to disguise herself, her exploits are already one of legend. Little is known about her except that she has a taste for orchids and sneakers. Fresh orchids left next to her footprint of different sneakers has become the signature of this vigilante when she completes her missions.
Proceeds of each sale of the Vanda NFT will benefit HCSA Community Services Programmes, which focuses on serving the vulnerable group of abused teenage girls and single parent families, giving them a future and a hope.
The Vanda NFT and the ‘Singapore Forum’ boxset will be unveiled during the Project Future – Culture Cartel x 2MR Labs NFT and Collectible Exhibition at 313@somerset from the 11th to 14th of August, and at a special Singapore Forum Pop Up installation at L.E WAY #04-31 at 313@somerset from the 11th to 20th of August.

JJJJound is a design studio located in Montreal Canada. Established in 2006 by Justin R. Saunders. Over the next decade, JJJJound evolved beyond the realm of the Internet and was made tangible by collaborations with artists and brands that share their strong design ethics. The result is a commitment to a different way of thinking; finding new ways to interpret products by respecting their original story.
A like-minded approach to design fuels this project. ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. In an effort to continue developing products with this vision, ASICS opened the Research Institute of Sports Science in Kobe in 1990. Since then, many remarkable technological innovations in sports shoes and apparel have stemmed from this unique site where scientists, athletes, and coaches work together.
With a shared passion for research and development, the opportunity to collaborate was obvious. Together, ASICS and JJJJound reinterpret the GEL-KAYANO-14’s retro running shape with its heavily-referenced 2000s aesthetic. Performance capabilities are advanced with updated materials and componentry while the style’s signature design elements remain intact.
The result is introduced in two colourways, comprising crisp white mesh, metallic silver overlays, and debossed detailing throughout. The silhouette is intersected with co-branded elements and reflective touches that stay true to the historical sneaker’s design language.
The JJJJound x ASICS GEL-KAYANO™ 14 is set to launch globally on the 26th of August and will be in Australia at ASICS.com, Above The Clouds, Highs and Lows and Up There for $250.00 AUD. ASICS has brought back the GEL-LYTE ™ III sneaker in a new colourway – ‘Wisteria.’ The tried and true silhouette re-emerges with emphasis on comfort and a healthy mind and body.
The GEL-LYTE ™ III sneaker’s dynamic fit and identifiable split-tongue shape have cemented the style as the GEL-LYTE ™ III OG staple for ASICS. Originally designed by Shigeyuki Mitsui in 1990, it has re-emerged in many iterations. This time, it has resurfaced in the brand-new Wisteria silhouette. The shoe’s key components (like the trademarked GEL® technology along with other comfort-making features) remain, while introducing a new emphasis on a sound, healthy mind and body.
The new Wisteria colourway shows off a purple and white midsole with a light purple and dark purple upper. A royal purple outsole finishes off the design, taking inspiration from the vibrant wisteria flower. The shoe’s upper features suede and hairy suede panels that are rendered with various shades of lilac and cream tones to represent the tree’s vibrant colour palette. Multitextured, breathable materials and key components, like its signature GEL™ technology unit in the midsole, provides everyday comfort, so the sneakers can support the wearer conveniently wherever they may go.
The new GEL-LYTE™ III ‘Wisteria’ takes inspiration from the historical wisteria tree that symbolises long-life and immortality. In Japan, the plant can live more than 100 years and is often revered as a symbol of everlasting wisdom. This new version of the beloved GEL-LYTE ™ III serves as a reminder that self-reflection is imperative in navigating the tumultuous journey of life and obtaining inner peace.

So with all that out of the way, here’s what we know so far about this year’s NBA 2K23:
Along with Michael Jordan returning to grace the covers of NBA 2K23 this year, the game will also reintroduce The Jordan Challenge, which encourages players to recreate 15 iconic moments from Jordan’s illustrious career. All ten of the original Challenges from NBA 2K11 have been completely rebuilt from the ground up and will make their return this year – alongside five new iconic Jordan moments – for an entire new generation of players to experience. These Challenges take advantage of more than a decade of technological leaps to provide a completely new way to play through Jordan’s accomplishments within its own game mode.
The Jordan Challenge also elevates an array of spellbinding performances across Jordan’s college, NBA, and Team USA Basketball careers that players can experience across all 15 Challenges and includes unique video vignettes that come with special commentary from an array of NBA personalities: Jordan’s teammates, opponents, and other sporting celebrities who saw him do it live.
The Jordan Challenge introduces iconic NBA moments and in-game innovations, including:
Experience a breathtaking recreation of a bygone era, from the 1982 NCAA National Championship to the 1998 NBA Finals. Each challenge features a pre-game interview with a luminary who was a part of what made every game special.
A complete presentational package including an intricately designed video filter system that recreates the television experience of these games as they were originally broadcast during the 1980s and 1990s, showcasing the look, feel and sound that take players back to the original game.
Key gameplay changes to fit the era, such as a heavier focus on the post and mid-range game and reworking the transition game for the 1980s feel, including tighter transition lanes and more players cutting to the basket with a numbers advantage, as opposed to the spotting up for three you see in today’s NBA.
More physicality modelled on the floor and in the paint, along with new signature style upgrades for classic greats like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, featuring all-new jump shot, layup and dunk packages.
Hand-checking and hard-hitting body-ups for a different feel to the one-on-one battles with accurately represented regulations that mirror the 1990s basketball era, like the Detroit Pistons “Bad Boys” with their famous “Jordan Rules” and more.
NBA 2K23 will also bring New Gameplay Enhancements thanks to feedback from the gaming community which will be highlighted by new skill moves, animations, and player builds that provide a more authentic and hyper-real experience.
The game also introduces a variety of new gameplay innovations to elevate the competitive intensity in all facets, including:
Shooting: This year’s major change is the addition of shooting attributes, which give each signature jump shot its own unique shooting stats that help determine its effectiveness. There are also five new shot meters to choose from, with 15 more that can be unlocked through Seasons over the coming year.
Pro Stick Enhancements: New Gesture Combos have been added to the Pro Stick, introducing a lot of new weapons for both shooting and ball handling for playmakers. Dunking also received new commands, ensuring players dunk exactly how they want without accidentally firing off an unexpected skill dunk.
Skill Moves & Adrenaline Boosts: New gesture combos give players even more ball handling and shooting options for their offensive arsenal. Additionally, a new feature to prevent overdribbling is the concept of Adrenaline Boosts. Boosts are consumed every time a player performs a hard go or explosive sprint launch, and once their three boosts are gone, players will notice their speed and acceleration decrease significantly for the remainder of the possession.
Defence: Defensive gameplay includes major updates aimed at creating more realistic on-ball defence and shot blocking, as well as steals and ball strips. This year, blocks have been tuned to a more realistic level, leading to more predictable outcomes, with the right players making appropriate stops when timing their block attempts well. There’s also a distinct improvement in ball security for good dunkers, and much more.
Badges: Introducing a brand new tiered badge system for players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, there will be 16 badges per attribute category: eight in Tier 1, four in Tier 2, and four in Tier 3, with the basic idea being that players need to equip a certain number of badges in the lower tiers before they can equip badges in the highest tiers.
Takeovers: While the primary and secondary Takeovers remain the same from previous games, Team Takeover has been redesigned. Team Takeover works as a cooperative team system with the entire team sharing a single meter. The new design makes a lot more sense and does a better job representing what it means to be hot as a team and to take over the game as a unit.
AI Gameplay: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will notice improved AI ball handling, pick and roll execution, defensive tendencies, and coaching decisions.
Rewrite NBA History in NBA 2K23 with the All-New MyNBA. Explore endless ‘what ifs’, recreate memorable moments in NBA history, or make new league-shattering moves in MyNBA Eras.
MyNBA provides players with a time machine that allows them to start a new MyNBA save at a specific point in NBA history called an Era. Players can play through solo, or join up with friends and choose to either relive or rewrite key moments, including:
The Magic Vs Bird Era: Starting in 1983, players will find themselves in the heat of the Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird rivalry that took over the league. Fans can rewrite 1980’s NBA history while they compete to draft the likes of Michael Jordan, Akeem Olajuwon, or any of the other NBA legends who were drafted in that legendary decade.
The Jordan Era: Beginning in 1991, The Jordan Era puts players right at the beginning of Jordan’s dominant run with the Chicago Bulls. They will battle with Isiah Thomas’ “Bad Boys” Detroit Pistons, John Stockton and Karl Malone, Olajuwon’s Houston Rockets, and Patrick Ewing’s New York Knicks for a chance to claim 1990’s basketball supremacy.
The Kobe Era: The Kobe Bryant era takes fans back to 2002, where a new generation of talent had emerged in the West, including Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs, Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks, and of course, the Black Mamba himself, Kobe Bryant. In addition to competing against the legends of this era, players will also be fighting for draft position in anticipation of the legendary 2003 draft class.
The Modern Era: The previous MyNBA experience is now dubbed the Modern Era. Long-time fans of the mode can continue to start with the most up-to-date rosters available and enjoy the traditional MyNBA experience.
Each Era received a variety of updates to recreate the atmosphere of the times. Every team has at least one unique court along with unique uniforms. Additionally, a specific filter system was intricately designed to recreate the television experience of watching these games as they were originally broadcast, and every expansion team and franchise relocation is accounted for in-game.
NBA 2K23 is currently scheduled for release on September 9 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms.
