JD Sports Wetherill Park Grand Opening

0

Another week, another JD Sports store opening in Australia. These guys continue their retail dominance in Australia with their 12th store in Sydney now open for business with at least another one in Sydney due to open later this month (stay tuned for this one western sydney folk!!)

JD Sports Wetherill Park

With the store opening always comes some sort after Jordans that have been released and sold out. With the Wetherill Park opening, they managed to get the Flint 13’s, Indigo 13’s Top 3 5’s and a few others which werent put on the shelf due to limited numbers.

JD Sports Wetherill Park

JD Sports are very rapidly expanding around Australia and are becoming the true kings of sneakers in Australia. They were able to keep their stores open during the lockdown of COVID-19 and sales have been strong for them during the past few months.

Here is a look around the store. If you’re in and around the Wetherill Park area, be sure to head down there and check it out. The store itself is a bit more unique then the other ones around Sydney due to the store size. The store is quite shallow but seemed longer due to the space they were able to obtain from Stockland’s Wetherill Park.

Here is the live video from the opening on our Facebook page

Air Jordan 5 Raging Bulls Release Details

0

Get excited Retro 5 fans, one of the iconic classics is set for a re-release in 2021!

Since its release in 2009, the now considered all-time classic retro pack Air Jordan 5 Raging Bulls has been quiet through the years, maintaining a high chair position in the resell market.

For 2021, the red suede pair from the classic pack is set to make a return to retail sometime around mid 2021, all according to Sneakerfiles. Much like the original release, the Air Jordan 5 Raging Bulls is expected to arrive in OG everything featuring red suede upper with matching red laces and reflective tongues to set it off.

The ‘Red Suede’ Air Jordan 5 originally released part of the Air Jordan 5 ‘Raging Bull’ Pack (Toro Bravo Pack) in 2009. Although the Red pair has received the ‘Raging Bull’ nickname, the other pair is known as 3M. The original release also came with special packaging that resembles a wooden box that has a bulls eye in Red.

It’s also worth noting the shoe will return individually boxed, separate from its bundled partner with 3M iteration throughout its upper. A set release date did not come attached with the leak report but look for the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bulls” to hit select retailers and Nike.com sometime in Mid 2021

Cue jokes about the suitable footwear to step on LEGO…

The branded shoes also might come in a themed box. That’s certainly the suggestion when the shoes were announced in a stop-motion video which is cool but reveals no details. The Lego x Adidas ZX 8000 sneaker was initially pegged for a late September or early October release, but the date printed on the box seen in the video suggests that the shoe could arrive on Sept. 25. As of now, the release details surrounding the collab have yet to be confirmed by the brands, but stay tuned.

“Personally, I’ve always liked to be different. I don’t want to be wearing the same thing as the person next to me or even the guy down the road.

Growing up in a strong basketball family, loving hip-hop and graffiti, I was drawn to the Puma Clyde. Couldn’t get enough of its strong history and classic shape.

I took off from there.

I just enjoy documenting what I have really. I often forget the pairs that I do have and looking back, the pictures I do take help remind me of the fun times I’ve either had in that pair or the journey of purchasing the pair, but most especially — the friends that I have made along the way.”

Black Panther Star Chadwick Boseman Passes Away at 43

0

Wakanda Forever! Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman passed away today at 43 after losing his battle with colon cancer.

Boseman had been fighting this battle with colon cancer for the past 4 years after being diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer back in 2016. Unfortunately it progressed to Stage IV in which he now lost the battle.

The news was confirmed by Boseman’s team in a statement posted to the actor’s social media accounts Friday night. “It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the statement reads. “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progresses to stage IV.”

The statement adds, “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.”

He will truly be missed as he was scheduled to reprise his role as Black Panther in the sequel in 2022.

RIP Chad!

Marvel’s MCU Phase 4 Release Schedule

0

This is the longest we’ve gone without Marvel Studios content in the past decade but the wait is almost over and there are dozens of titles on the way. As the droughts continues, we’re going to run through the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we gear up to go back to theaters for the first time in months as titles like The New Mutants and Tenet serve as the first new major films since March and the first MCU title is inching closer and closer. As of mid-August 2020, this list accurately runs through every single title Marvel has confirmed on the release schedule and even some of the rumors. You might learn a thing or two!

November 6th 2020 – Black Widow

Black Widow

Speaking of dropping, Black Widow is scheduled for November 6 and it seems like a somewhat safe bet that this movie could really come out on that date. Disney is testing the waters with The New Mutants this month and if things don’t go terribly wrong again and theaters are able to stay open, there’s no doubt they want Black Widow to make money soon because delaying this further means delaying everything further. Black Widow is a prequel set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War

December 2020 – WandaVision

WandaVision is due to hit Disney+ in December. There has been production delays due to COVID-19 but has gotten back on track since restrictions started lifting in the US. WandaVision takes place after Avengers: Endgame and will lead straight into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

WandaVision

February 12 2021 – The Eternals

The Eternals was originally scheduled for late 2020. Now has a release date of February 12 2021. This is going to change the MCU by rewriting history seeing as the group is Eternal. Most of this movie is going to take place in a time period which hasnt been explored yet. Plus we are hearing this could introduce the Celestials into the MCU…FINALLY!

Early 2021 – What If…? & Loki

Disney+ is ramping it up in the MCU in 2021. The Falcon & Winter Solider was originally scheduled to be released this month, however due to COVID-19 this has been delayed and no date has been given yet. We are expected to see this in Early 2021 along with the animated series What If…? and the live action series of Loki.

Loki follows the god of mischef who escaped with the tesseract in Avengers: Endgame and What If…? explores an animated multiverse where stories which will never happen in the main MCU are told

March 19 2021 – Morbius

Sony is releasing Morbius which Marvel Studios didnt have a hand in. It seems clear that Sony is trying to operate in the MCU canon when you see the spiderman image with “Murderer” graffiti on it after Peter Parker was outed and framed by Mysterio in Far From Home. Michael Keaton is also reprising his role from Homecoming in this movie. Will this tie into the MCU? We dont know as of yet.

morbius

May 7, 2021 – Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings

At this stage, May is set for the release of Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings. This movie is currently being filmed here in Australia and will tie into Iron Man 3 with the true reveil of the Mandarin since we didnt get that in Iron Man 3. Who knows, Tony Stark may have created yet another villian for the MCU considering they are diving into the Ten Rings group who were first introduced in the first Iron Man movie that kick started the MCU.

June 25, 2021 – Venom 2

June 25 has been set for the sequel to the 2018 anti-hero movie Venom. Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock/Venom to take on Woody Harrelson’s version of Carnage. There have been plenty of rumors circulating about introducing Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spiderman into the Sony universe of the MCU since Sony has taken the right backs to do more Spiderman movies. Fingers crossed, this ties into a possible live-action Spider-Verse movie down the track

2021 – Disney+ Marvel Series Overview

At this stage, there is a gap in Marvel movies in 2021 in which will lead the way for Disney+ to release a few different series’ they are working on. So far we know Hawkeye, Ms.Marvel, She-Hulk & Moon Knight are planned. As for the release dates of these, we are still waiting to hear. Stay tuned for these ones

December 17, 2021 – Spiderman 3

Marvel Studios & Sony are teaming up to release the 3rd Spiderman movie in Tom Holland version which we are hearing could be called Spiderman: Homesick. It will follow on for the events that unfolded in Far From Home that could have Parker on the run or in hiding after being outed by Mysterio.

spiderman 3

February 11, 2022 – Thor: Love and Thunder

Another Thor movie. Just when we thought Chris Hemsworth was done with the god of thunder, he is back for another movie. This movie will bring back Natalie Portman as Jane Forster and possibly some of the Guardians of the Galaxy since Thor took off with them after defeating Thanos in Endgame. Taika Waititi returns to helm this movie, so expect it to be like Ragnarok.

thor love and thunder

March 25, 2022 – Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

The director of the original Spiderman trilogy is returning to the Marvel Universe to helm the sequel to Doctor Strange. This one will be setup after WandaVision and will feature Scarlett Witch which could be a major game changer for the MCU as it really dives into the multiverse which was teased in Spiderman: Far From Home.

May 6, 2022 – Black Panther II

We head back to Wakanda in May 2022 for the sequel to Black Panther. Director Ryan Coolger confirmed the sequel back at the D23 Expo in 2019 but hasnt revealed any further details on the project. Stay tuned.

July 8, 2022 – Captain Marvel 2

The is the furthest date we have in the Phase 4 series with Brie Larson returning as Captain Marvel. It will be set in present day and from the rumours that are circulating on the internet, it may bring in Nick Fury’s SWORD division from the post credit scene of Spiderman: Far From Home. Expect this to be on the MCU’s comsic side of things

captain marvel

Thats everything planned so far for the Phase 4 MCU. There are some more projects in the works including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Ant-Man 3, Blade reboot & a possible reboot of Fantastic Four & X-Men since they have officially joined the MCU. Either way, the future is still very strong for the MCU. Let us know what your excited on seeing

The Batman First Trailer

Last, but not least was the biggest announcement out of the Fandome event which was a first look at Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Fans were very worried about Robert Pattinson taking over the role as Bruce Wayne/Batman when the announcement was made, however this trailer might actually change your mind. In this trailer we got a look at Robert Pattinson’s darker, disheveled Batman, glimpses of Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman (although Reeves stated she isn’t Catwoman yet in this film), Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Jeffrey Wright as Detective Jim Gordon. Judging by clues in the trailer, The Batman isn’t set in the ’90s as originally speculated, and The Riddler seems to be the main villain of The Batman, despite never seeing actor Paul Dano on screen in the new footage.

So with all that being said, what do you think DC Fans? For many years, Marvel has seemed to be winning in the cinematic space, however this appears that DC is finally heading in the right direction. Let us know what you think

2020 NBA Draft Lottery

0

Heading into the NBA Draft Lottery a year ago, the stakes were clear. Zion Williamson’s destination was going to be decided by the way the balls bounced. This time around, there are additional variables at play, because there is no consensus No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Depending on who ends up where coming out of Thursday night’s lottery, the conversation around who will be picked in the top-five, and in what order, figures to shift. So there is plenty hanging in the balance as representatives from the league’s 14 non-playoff teams gather virtually for the festivities.

We now have confirmation as to what order the Draft will be for 2020.

So as we head into the NBA Draft for 2020 who’s your pick as to who will go number 1 this year? ESPN draft experts Jonathan Givony and Mike Schmitz have had Georgia guard Anthony Edwards, Illawarra Hawks guard LaMelo Ball and Memphis big man James Wiseman in the top three of their draft rankings for a while. But there are also appealing prospects outside of the top three, including Isaac Okoro, Onyeka Okongwu, Deni Avdija, Obi Toppin and Tyrese Haliburton. Those players are generally considered to have lower ceilings, but they might be more likely to develop into strong NBA contributors than the swing prospects in the top three.

The 2020 NBA Draft was in a state of flux for months as the league attempted to navigate the problems presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the season got going and we are into the playoffs, the NBA Draft will now take place on the 17th October (Australian Time). The draft was originally scheduled to be held at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York but will now be conducted at the ESPN facilities in Bristol, Connecticut, with the draft being held via video conferencing.
