Curry Brand, powered by Under Armour, is launching a seven-part footwear collection that brings the spirit of Sesame Street’s iconic Muppets to the basketball court. Stephen Curry is father to three kids under the age of 9. Partnering with Sesame Workshop—the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street—was a natural extension of his recent efforts to celebrate Harlem and inspire young athletes.
Sesame Street has always modelled inclusivity. It’s evident in its storylines and diverse cast of Muppets, humans, and guest stars. “Curry Brand and Sesame Street, we preach the same message,” says Curry, a three-time NBA champion and two-time league MVP. “It’s about supporting all kids, especially those in underserved communities who are looking for an opportunity to be their best selves.”
Curry Brand’s “Street Pack” includes seven colourways based on Sesame Street’s indelible characters. Each are celebrated with unique markings on the shoe’s tongue tab and a hint-of-character flag near the heel. The classic Sesame Street sign is also featured on the sock liner.
The “Count It” colourway, for example, brings to life Count von Count. The shiny tongue tab reflects the satin exterior of his cape and the shoe’s interior matches the cape’s colourful lining. “Talking Trash,” based on Oscar the Grouch, has a metallic tongue tab as a nod to the trash can. Meanwhile, the tongue tab on Cookie Monster’s “Taking Cookies” and other shoe tabs feature a fuzzy, fur-like feel.
The Curry Flow 9 builds on the success of the Curry Flow 8. This updated shoe features a fine-tuned UA Flow traction pattern that works closely with UA Warp; Under Armour’s new-to-basketball upper technology that improves foot stability. They feature supportive tapes that lock the foot onto the UA Flow midsole while allowing for natural movement. Given the intricate structure of the shoe and the array of stylisations, designers worked hard to celebrate Sesame Street’s characters.
Spencer Hawkins is a senior footwear designer at Under Armour. He says, “Every single colourway is a unique story celebrating not only the unique physical attributes of the characters but also what each character can teach us about building a better, more inclusive neighbourhood.”
The first two releases in Sesame Street x Curry Flow 9 “Street Pack” collection are the “Count It” (Count von Count) and “Play Big” (Big Bird) colourways. These will drop in Australia on the 14th January for $220.00AUD.

What was your thought process when you made this awesome Christmas composition?
The yellow line caught my eye as I was pulling into a car park when I was actually wearing my Lightning 4. I had this “yellow brick road” idea in my head. I took a few shots from different distances and as soon as I had this pic — I knew it was the one. A few edits were done, but Santa and his reindeer just fit with this time of the year.
What is your collection like these days?
My collection is diverse, Jordans, Brons, Air Max 1/90s, Kamikazes, Kyries and a few Li-Ningaloo thrown in to make the bulk of the collection. A ton of GRs, as it the love of sneakers for me.
Now, if you have seen Spider-Man: No Way Home (and i hope you have by now at time of reading this!) and stuck around right till the end of the credits like a true marvel fan, you would have seen this trailer already. Fans were treated to the first look at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after the events of No Way Home.
To sum it up before we dive into it, you would have had to watch the Disney+ series of Wandavision, Loki & What If…? to understand the multiverse as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The first footage from Doctor Strange 2 confirms a fair number of Marvel fans theories and leaks: America Chavez’s dimensional portal powers certainly seem like a major MacGuffin in the film. One scene of footage shows Strange locked in a fierce battle with a villain who looks unmistakably like Shuma Gorath, the evil entity from a dark dimension who is rumored to be pursuing Chavez across dimensions, in attempt to steal her powers. The key is that Chavez’s powers could allow the evil entity access to any dimension it has yet to consume – but where does that journey of conquering begin?
What we see in the final sequence of the Doctor Strange 2 trailer could easily be the moment that Strange visits the first dimension Shuma Gorath ruined – or at least one of the ruined dimensions left behind. Marvel Comics fans know the comic book history of Shuma Gorath mentions that the evil entity’s true form cannot be perceived by mortals and that the tentacled monster with one big eye is simply the limit of his form that can be perceived in the physical world. As one of the main demonic powers in the Marvel Universe (even more powerful than Mephisto!), it wouldn’t be surprising to see the villain take several forms in the film – including “Evil Strange”.
So is Evil Strange the Strange Supreme version from What If…? or just a manifestion of Shuma Gorath? Guess time will tell in this one
Either way, this looks dope. Phase 4 of the MCU is going deep dive into the Multiverse and its setting up something very special moving forward.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is due to hit cinemas on May 6th 2022

The rooftops, terraces and the hundred of spires offer some of the best views you can’t get anywhere else in the world. Second collaboration was in 2019 with the ‘Flip’ which was inspired by the design of the National Museum building in Prague which overlooks the city centre from Wenceslas Square.
Now for 2021, Footshop and KangaROOS third collaboration entitled ‘Nocturna’, inspired by the City of Prague will be the final iteration of the Ultimate model. The sneaker will feature an updated dark colour scheme and will be the most limited of the series of Footshop x KangaROOS collaborations. Only 250 individually numbered hand-made pairs were created.
The Footshop x KangaROOS Ultimate 3 ‘Nocturna’ will feature a black upper combined with the familiar pattern of suede and premium leather with a new addition of ballistic nylon-like canvas.
