The Rocketeer Getting a Disney+ Movie

0

What a cult classic film this was! For us older folk, we would remember the 1991 cult classic “The Rocketeer” which starred Billy Campbell as Cliff Secord, a stunt pilot who finds a suit and rocket pack that he just can’t resist putting on. The act leads him into conflict with the mob, Nazis, and the FBI.

Disney+ have announced that The Rocketeer is getting a revival with an all new Disney+ Original film dubbed “The Return of The Rocketeer”. The film will be produced by David and Jessica Oyelowo under their Yoruba Saxon banner with David potentially starring in the project. Ed Ricourt is set to write. According to Deadline, the film will have an all-new creative directive and Ricourt’s story will focus on a retired Tuskegee airman who takes up the Rocketeer mantle.

Disney originally confirmed back in 2016 that they had plans to reboot The Rocketeer with a sequel that would take place six years after the original film but that was shelved.

As more information comes to hand, we will post it up but this has only just been announced so stay tuned to The Kickz Stand for more information on this one

Spider-Man: No Way Home Official Teaser Trailer

0

Brace yourselves spidey fans, we FINALLY have the official teaser trailer for the upcoming No Way Home movie which will be the 3rd installment in the Tom Holland Spider-Man franchise. Marvel Studios & Sony Entertainment have teamed up once again to bring us this crazy movie.

The story picks up right where Far From Home finished, where the world found out Peter Parkers identity as Spider-Man after Mysterio framed him. This takes Parker to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) where he wants him to cast a spell that’d make people forget who he was, a scene taken straight from the beloved One More Day story arc.

Things don’t quite go as planned and Doctor Strange then warns Peter of the consequences to the multiverse, something he says they know very little about. He also mentions Peter trying to live “different lives” and it being something that becomes more and more dangerous. The trailer ends with Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus ominously saying “Hello, Peter” almost as if putting a fine point on the idea that we’re definitely dealing with the multiverse now.

As teased by the trailer released, No Way Home is shaping up to be a massive movie for both Sony and Marvel Studios. In addition to Holland, Zendaya (MJ), and Jacob Batalon (Ned) reprising their roles, the movie has been rumored to include a plethora of guests from Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) to Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) and Willem Dafoe (Norman Osborn). Charlie Cox has even been rumored to reprise his role as Matt Murdock from Marvel’s Daredevil.

This trailer has definately got the spidey senses tingling in more ways then one. They have kept this very hush hush up till now where there has been little if not any discussion online as to casting, sets, etc.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17th 2021 and will wrap up what will be an amazing year for Marvel

So let us know what you think Spidey fans. Are we hyped for this?

ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘VIC’

0

ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘VIC’ was inspired by the Vienna International Centre (VIC), also known as UNO-City. This extraordinary building from the 70’s has significantly shaped Austria’s aesthetic sense.

The Austrian architect Johann Staber designed this building so that the six Y-shaped parts are distinctively arranged in order to allow as much sunlight in as possible. The ‘VIC’ opened its doors in 1979 – right when Bob Gamm launched KangaROOS aka “shoes with a pocket” – and is currently being used by the United Nations (UN).

Co-founder of ATELIER KAMP Florian Kampelmuehler talks about his late Aunt Heide, who used to work at the UNO-City supermarket when he was a kid, hooking him up with strange and rare sweets and beverages. She was his inspiration and connection to this cool design and he dedicated this sneaker to her.

The ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘VIC’ has a 90’s indoor silhouette and is mainly wrapped in buttery smooth Nappa leather, with micro-perforations on the toe and quilted side panels to reference the building’s structure. A beautiful bluish, light grey takes on most of the upper while dark grey suede covers the heel section.

Different shades of the 70’s orange can be found on the animal stripe, laces, and lace tags as well as the terry cloth lining. White nubuck and cream beige suede details as well as lilac TPU eyelets provide for accents. A cream beige sole unit with lilac details and a violet stabilizer finish off this future classic. The ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘VIC’ sneakers are made in Germany.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic, these times definitely call for unity. We are all small parts of a bigger picture. Every ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘VIC’ pair comes with two puzzle pieces, hoping that one day we can come together to complete the puzzle.

The ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralite ‘VIC’ will be released on the 28th of August on the ATELIER KAMP website. Worldwide release will be on 10th of September and will be available at 43einhald, Acribik, Afew, Alike, Bijsmaak, Chmielna 20, Footshop, Gloryhole, Egotrips, Hanon, HHV, JumpNshoez, Mainsource, Outback, Overkill, Schrittmacher, Sneakerbaas, Sneakerstudio, Suppa, Titolo and on KangaROOS.

Marvel Studios “Eternals” Official Trailer

0

Well, this was a surprise drop last night. Marvel Studios out of no where dropped a new trailer for the upcoming “Eternals” movie. And boy…did it not disappoint.

With Black Widow done and dusted, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings about to hit cinemas in the coming weeks, its time to really dive into the next blockbuster directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao. Marvel have hinted that Eternals could be one of the studios most unique films to date and this trailer definately showcases what they are saying.

Now, the big question is where in the timeline will this one fit? We have heard from the early reactions from Shang-Chi that Shang-Chi will be taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and this will be after that. So it looks like Marvel is in full swing with moving forward in the timeline.

The biggest hint is in the opening of this trailer, where Ajak (Salma Hayak) and Ikaris (Richard Madden) have a renuion to discuss the two key events of the five-year infinity war with Thanos. That is after the snap (or Blip) caused an amount of cosmic energy that has catalyzed an event called “The Emergence” which (as the name suggests) will bring a world-ending threat that only the “Eternals” can stop.

The biggest hint of who the big bad in this one was a quick look at The Celestials (which everyone online thought might have been Galactus). Whichever way this plays out, this trailer has definately peaked alot of interest in Marvel fans in the direction they are going with Phase 4.

So what are your thoughts? Are we looking forward to the next wave of MCU movies? Are you liking the direction. Let us know your thoughts

Marvel Studios “Eternals” is due to hit cinemas on November 5th 2021

PAC-MAN x CASIO Vintage A100WEPC

CASIO has announced the upcoming release of the exclusive PAC-MAN x CASIO Vintage collaboration watch, the A100WEPC! This limited-edition watch is a nostalgic throwback to one of the world’s first blockbuster video games: PAC-MAN. The original PAC-MAN was a classic arcade game first released in 1980 by NAMCO in Japan.

The watch design pays homage to the original CASIO F-100 released in 1978. This was the first ever CASIO quartz watch in a resin case. This unique watch became even more popular when Officer Ellen Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver) wore this watch in the classic 1979 sci-fi movie Alien by Ridley Scott. Ironically, the F-100 was discontinued that same year, and for those who mourned the disappearance of the vintage watch, this year’s release of the A100WE series is cause for celebration. They kept the same shape and structure, so they retain that same F-100 classy, retro look.

The PAC-MAN x CASIO Vintage A100WEPC collaboration of course features the iconic, colourful, pixelated PAC-MAN and ghost characters. Moreover, the face design faithfully replicates the PAC-MAN game screen. Laser engraving on the black ion-plated metal band lays out the game maze, and has delightful details such as the line marking the exit of the nest, where the ghosts emerge. The gold-plated watch case is inspired by the PAC-MAN arcade game cabinet. From the 4 buttons below the screen, you can expect the usual CASIO Stopwatch, Alarm and Calendar functionality.

The PAC-MAN x CASIO Vintage A100WEPC is $299.00 and will be available in limited quantities from the CASIO Australia website, Solemate Sneakers and other selected CASIO retailers from the end of August. Stay up to date via the CASIO Instagram page and website.

Adidas Sells Reebok to Authentic Brand Group

0

The much anticipated sale of the Vector Brand group has finally happened to the tune of 2.5 Billion USD.

Adidas has agreed to close the deal with the Authentic Brand Group somewhere around the first quarter of 2022.

Adidas first acquired Reebok back in 2006 to the tune of 3.6 Billion USD. While the partnership generated some early buzz in the retro basketball and lifestyle department it failed to sustain the momentum. Eventually, the Reebok brand became an afterthought and was relegated to a bench role under the Adidas Umbrella.

Authentic Brands Group Inc — a New York based brand management establishment with over 30 notable apparel brands under its wing, is set to acquire the Boston based company. The image and likeness of Shaquille O’Neal, Muhammad Ali, Julius Erving, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Aerosport, Above the Rim, Sports Illustrated and another 20 more are just some of the notable brands and names being managed by ABG.

Meanwhile, Adidas is set to refocus its strength towards its “Own The Game” campaign, in the hopes of further strengthening and sustaining its future market growth in the industry.
